From the tranquility of the property it is approximately 10 minutes drive to the stunning medieval market town of Sarlat la Caneda, one of the cultural, architectural and gastronomic highlights of The Dordogne.
If you want to leave the car behind there are excellent cycling routes throughout the area. In fact, from the centre of the village you can cycle directly to Sarlat along the easy-access Piste Cyclable (cycle path) that has been created using the old railway line - fabulous, peaceful, safe and it even has its own bridge across the Dordogne river.

.... WiFi in the house .... Kitchen areas include dishwashers, ovens, hobs, toasters & coffee machines and include all the kitchenware you should need. .... BBQs are provided (you just need to bring the charcoal and your choice of steaks). .... A child gate is fitted at the top of each interior staircase .... Although the properties have been completely modernised, these are very old buildings and there are a couple of steps up to some entrances. This makes wheelchair / disabled access difficult. …. Car charging is available in the village, opposite the supermarket and in most local towns. …. Smoking is allowed outside each of the main buildings. …. Please ensure you have suitable holiday insurance and see our cancellation policy. .... You will see our Rental Agreement at the time of booking. We realise you will be visiting us for a holiday and, although these documents include some statutory and House Rules, our Rental Agreement & our Pet Agreement are to protect your interests, safeguard our property and protect our local environment / community. .... Main renter must be 25 years or older. Our properties are designed for comfort and we want you to have fun when you visit. You are welcome to use them for family celebrations but they’re not Party Houses. No additional visitors are allowed to stay as guests.

Also, cleaning fees are excluded from your rental. We will disinfect the property after you leave. Therefore you must leave the house in the same condition as on your arrival. An additional cost will be incurred if this is not done.
The pets of guests are not allowed at the property, although the gardens are unfenced and the pets of neighbours may occasionally visit the gardens. The proprietors reserve the right to waive this rule at their sole discretion. The pets of previous guests may be allowed to return.
We have employed additional staff to prepare and disinfect the property before you arrive. However, because of the additional programme, although you may arrive early, unfortunately you will not be able to enter your property until 17.30. On the day you depart, we must begin preparing the house no later than 09.30. As a result of the additional cleaning and treatment of the private pool areas, they may not be up to temperature until late on the day you arrive. The main pool area will be available.

Perfect spot away from the crowds but close to chateaux.
We wanted peace and quiet away from it all. We explored the quiet lanes all around the property by e-bikes and hardly used our car. The weather was gorgeous and we spent many lazy hours by and in the pool.
Lovely little 2 bed gite with own plunge pool and access to shared pool. We were so fortunate to have found this place. Everything thought of. Unseasonably hot( France in middle of heat wave ) but although there is no air con there were multiple fans provided. The gardens are lovely. Paricularly enjoyed watching the deer. The hosts are great -Very responsive and full of local information. Would definitely like to return.

Le Noyer was fantastic. A great property for two people set in great grounds. Situated a walkable distance from the village of Grolejac, and only 15 minutes drive from Sarlat.
The property is immaculately presented, and Scott & Hélène are knowledgeable and fantastic hosts.
The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shared pool area is great. Although there were other guests we were lucky to have the pool area to ourselves, an added bonus. The food in this region is first class, and there is plenty to do and see. Give this property a try, you won't be disappointed.

Glad you enjoyed this super region.
Hope to see you again.

About the host
Hosted by Hélène & Scott
Having spent 5 years overlanding around Africa, camping in our Land Rover, we decided not to return to live in the UK but to settle in this most beautiful part of France.
Why they chose this property
We looked at hundreds of properties throughout the region - some very grand, some very humble. From the moment we first viewed La Domaine du Champ Bas nothing else compared. The properties are comfortable, simple and charming. The region is simply beautiful, the landscape is wonderful and the people are friendly.
What makes this property unique
This is the place to get away from the rat-race. We can accommodate large family groups but allow each to have some privacy. You can unwind in a beautiful rural location within a stone’s throw of some of the most fabulous locations, attractions and activities in France.
