The house is in a lovely location, a short walk to the beach. The house was nicely furnished and was clean and tidy. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of plates and cutlery etc.
Beautiful property with all amenities at your disposal . Spotlessly clean and very comfortable Very close walking distance to one of the most idyllic beaches in the UK in our opinion.Absolutely whole heartedly recommend
Great house for a family. Well equipped, clean, warm and a good location a short walk from the beach. Very peaceful and the red deer who came to the field beside the house every evening were a bonus.
Cottage exceeded our expectations. Very spacious and comfortable. Everything you need within the cottage for a pleasant stay.
Great communication from owner of property and most helpful when I needed his help in a matter.
Quality family time spent in glorious surroundings. Look forward to a return visit.
Lovely property, everything you could ask for. Walking distance to the beach. Wonderful wildlife and amazing scenery. Beach was busy on hot sunny days which we were lucky to have. Imagine house is equally amazing in winter too.
Lovely, spacious house and very comfortable. We were out more or less every day as the weather was incredible. Stour Head, Clachtoll, Ben More Assynt, Suilven and Handa. Didn’t need to use the log burner and we drank al fresco (the midgies weren’t so bad). Would happily return!
Really impressed with the house and location! Not the first time we’ve visited the west coast so we were prepared for how rural it is. A little forward planning for shop opening times etc is all that is needed to make your stay comfortable. It was lovely to have wild deer in the adjacent field alongside cows and sheep. The beach is one of the best we’ve been to….I would even go as far as saying it easily compares to the Caribbean on a sunny day! Perfect location for hikes, other beaches and plenty of amazing waterfalls! The chippy at Achmelvich Beach is lovely and made even better by being able to eat them on the beach!
Will be booking again, thank you for the memories ❤️
We loved our stay here; such a comfortable, well equipped house, in a great area. Absolute silence at night, and comfortable cosy beds gave a sound sleep. So restful sitting in the living room gazing out across the garden and field. The wood burner spread warmth throughout.
Achmelvich Beach is a short walk away, one of the most stunning we’ve seen, sandy, blue, gently sloping.
The single track road leads back out towards Lochinver, which has a. Spar, petrol, newsagents and some fabulous restaurants. We loved Delilah’s, Peets and the Inver Lodge. Time was spent well watching the seals, otters and birds, plenty of deer to be seen, we also watched eagles soaring overhead. And a great clear night sky to see the Milky Way and planets.
Communications from the owner were excellent, very helpful.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in a very special place. We enjoyed a week with our 3 kids and grandparents with plenty of space and utilities (including garden)for all. Property so bright and well laid out, including having 3 bathrooms A warm, cosy haven so close to the beach that we could make full use of the sunshine when it appeared! Stunning area to explore, coastline and hills like nowhere else. We would love to return soon!
We returned to Assynt after many years away and this house could not have provided a better location for this special trip. It is perfectly situated for walks on Achmelvich beach, where we saw the most amazing sunsets - and seals and dolphins! The house is only a short drive to all the amenities in Lochinver, so the best of all worlds. The house itself is luxurious by any comparison. Very private and quiet, with ample room for our family of 5. Everything was to hand, with a generously stocked kitchen, bath towels, and even a welcome dram! Traveling from America, we really appreciated the attention to the details put in by Alistair. Everything was taken care of (swing ball was a firm hit with children and parents alike!) The open plan kitchen/living/dining room made our stay such fun, with the large glass windows in the lounge helping us to fully immerse in the Highland landscape - complete with daily visits from beautiful stags! We are very grateful to have had the best experience staying in this wonderful house and look forward to our return.
Fantastic property. Really close the the beautiful Achmelvich beach. Plenty of hot water for showers after a long day in the sea. 3 showers, so very handy for a family get away. Lovely outlook and space outdoors which is secure for kids. The utility room is really handy too. One of the double beds squeaks really badly every time you move, but apart from that a fantastic break and a wonderful property.
Fantastic house / Beautiful location - Can't wait till next time!
You will find everything you will need in this fantastic property. Beautiful lounge and kitchen with an adjacent tv room.
3 great bedrooms and bathrooms (one of both downstairs too!).
Don't miss the deer which visit the field behind the house every evening or the wonderful white beach a 2 minute walk away!
We will be back! (Just hope we don't leave it 30 years to return like this time!)

Spacious, clean and well appointed but needing a bit of maintenance.
We had fabulous weather so had a great holiday. The cottage got very hot because of the huge south facing window which has no blinds. We enjoyed having space to sit outside and also watching the birds and then deer in the field over the fence.
The cottage is well appointed with plenty of crockery and cutlery and glasses. The seating is fairly comfortable and the beds not bad although the mattresses are a bit lumpy. It was difficult to make the upstairs rooms dark enough as in June it’s light nearly 24 hours a day. Blackout blinds on the Velux windows would help.
Loved being so near the beach. Would definitely go back.

An excellent place away
An amazing place in stunning scenery. The house is very well equipped, cosy and a lovely place to stay away. A real find; just a few hundred metres from a stunning beach and a great place to get it away from it all and relax.

Delightful Cottage.
Stayed here with my whole family in August, seven of us. Plenty of room for everyone - three bathrooms so no bother getting washed in the morning! The cottage is just charming, lovely log fire which was very easy to light, plenty of logs provided. Modern kitchen with everything you could possibly want to cook a big family meal. Plus a dishwasher. Small separate television room meant anyone wanting to watch TV (the children) could do so without disturbing the others. Spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Washer / dryer provided. Large garden area to run round in. Five minutes walk to the beach. Can't think of anything else you could possibly want from a holiday cottage. Thoroughly recommend.
