Absolutely brilliant stay at the Old Forge.
Absolutely brilliant stay at the Old Forge. The cottage is fitted out to a very high spec with excellent quality touches especially with the quality of linens and furniture. They even provided towels for the hot tub so that the bathroom towels weren’t used, I took our own just in case as I’ve stayed places before where extra towels weren’t provided for the hot tub. There was also a lovely box for dogs that included dog treats which is a wonderful touch. Julia was an excellent host, couldn’t do enough for you and was always on hand if needed but not intrusive. The location was brilliant, a lovely quiet area, which was perfect for getting away from it all with a local beach no more than 14miles away. The hot tub was brilliant, lovely to relax in after walking the dog during the day. Loved using the log burner daily, this heated the whole cottage without the need for the heating on, it was lovely and cosy. If you are wanting a break from the fast paced world then this is the place to go, 100%. They are in the process of renovating a sister cottage which looks to be just as good as the old forge, not that you would know it was happening as there was no noise at all from them. We will definitely return with friends and stay again in both cottages. Thank you Julia. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a great time at the Old Forge, the hot tub was a god send! Our 3 children loved it, they were in it before breakfast and every evening. The cottage itself is beautiful, decorated to a very high standard throughout and all amenities are provided. Julia and Russ are fantastic hosts and made us feel really welcome. They even showed us all their stallions and mares, my children loved it. If you are looking for somewhere to recharge and spend some quality time with friends or family this is the cottage for you. We can’t wait to return with our friends (when they can stay next door)! Just what we needed. Thanks Julia and Russ x Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The cottage is located around 2 miles (via single track) from the village of Brandesburton on the A165 around 8 miles north of Beverley. Brandesburton has just enough local amenities - such that if you chose not too, you dont have to venture into the supermarket rich town of Beverley. The cottage itself (along with sister cottage Farriers Lodge) is a delicious mix of spacious practicallity, tinged elegance with a touch of class and luxury and boasts a private hot tub, wood burner and even an school work desk. No expense has been spared, yet plenty of thought has been given in the general kitout and layout of this cottage. The owners are fiercely passionate about the descriptive element and cottage location, and I was particularly impressed when they asked us outright for some critical feedback admitting they were newbies to the cottage rental game and they were seeking to constantly improve via honest customer feedback. So if your tastes and wants are stillitoes, burgers, slot machines, people and busy pubs - this is likely not the place for you. Our overall opinion - if your bag is escapism, unbroken countryside/wildlife, total darkness at night along with peace and quiet - then my advice would be to look no further, stop scrolling and simply book. In short - We will be back and thank you! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
