Found in the pretty village of Nordham, on the edge of North Cave, there’s ample opportunity to enjoy the surrounding countryside or to simply stay in, relax and unwind. On an evening snuggle in and relax on either the deep-filled sofa or one of two electric armchairs, read a book, play a game, or watch a film on the Smart TV. During the warmer summer months throw open the bi-fold doors and let the beautiful smells from the sensory garden come inside. The large kitchen/dining room is a delight and also offers a large set of bi-fold doors. Cleverly designed with low hob allowing wheelchair access and a reduced height sink, you’ll not be disappointed. With a host of modern appliances and a wonderful welcome basket the chef in the family will be thrilled to cook up a storm here. A small utility room with washing machine and drying rack sits close by.

The Old Stables offers a master super kingsize double room with large en-suite wet room. Additional handrails and accessible sink are also available. French doors lead out to a pretty courtyard area which also allows for direct access from the parking area. The second bedroom is a twin room with private bathroom. There is a pull cord control panel available in this room should you choose to travel with a carer.

Step outside into a beautifully presented sensory garden with borders packed with rosemary, thyme, lavender and sage, just perfect for those sunny summer days. Situated just two miles from the M62 makes it easy to get to and is well located to explore the area. It is really close to the market towns of Beverley and Market Weighton, both very popular. The historic city of Hull, the City of Culture in 2017, is only 20 minutes away, and York only 45 minutes away. Both offer many different experiences. The Deep at Hull, and at York, a day at the races, York dungeons, Viking Museum, retail therapy, theatre, live music and not forgetting the magnificent minster. It’s only 35 minutes from the coast for a grand day out where you can enjoy a walk on the beach and fish and chips! If it’s an activity holiday you are looking for, why not try kayaking, fishing diving on the outside the village, or clay pigeon shooting in the next village. North Cave is the Gateway to East Yorkshire’s Nature Triangle and there is a variety of wildlife in the owner’s woodland which you can visit, or you can see the bird life at the wetlands where there are stunning sunsets. NGS garden Fawley House is just next door for an arranged visit and there are two garden centres in the village.

A vegetable basket is offered during your stay in the growing season from the gardens at Fawley House. Drewton’s farm shop is really popular for food shopping and for their award-winning restaurant. There’s a very popular pub serving great food a short walk away in the next village. Additional facilities available include a wheelchair, shower stool, shower chair, selection of crutches, additional grab rails and M3, V1 and H1 audio loop system. For your luxury holiday, book The Old Stables for a relaxing break away.

10/10 Excellent

Susan Ward

We had a lovely stay at the old stables.

We had a lovely stay at the old stables. It is totally accessible for people with mobility/ disability issues. Well thought out and also Louise the owner got in touch to see if we needed any equipment while we were there. We asked for a wheeled shower chair which was so useful 😊 the grounds are beautiful and in summer I bet it’s so lovely to sit out. Really enjoyed our stay.
