Located just a few miles away from the Galveston Ferry and walking distance from the beach, our beach house is idyllic for those looking for the full beach experience, but not all of the cost.
What started as my great grandfather's home away from home during his years as a shrimping boat captain, our family converted it into a spacious 2-story beach house with all of the comforts of home. Downstairs, it features 2 wheel-chair accessible bedrooms with a full bathroom (standing shower), washer and dryer, a covered patio with 2 porch swings, plenty of room for grilling (gas and charcoal grill included), and an outdoor shower for your return from the beach.
Upstairs, the floorplan can only be described as wide-open. Prominently centered is a huge kitchen space fully stocked, complete with a range, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and arguably more counter-stop space than you've ever seen! Also, the upstairs features a private bedroom with a queen bed, a livingroom area, dining table, a king sized bed (behind room dividers), a day bed w/trundle bed, and a full bathroom (tub/shower) with two vanities.
The "big store" is just a few blocks away for all of your gasoline and grocery needs, as well as two water parks, the Fort Travis Seashore Park (Civil War fort), several restaurants and bars, firework stands (seasonal), and souvenir shops. For those interested in a longer stay, many of the Houston attractions like baseball games, Johnson Space Center, Houston Zoo, etc. are under 2hrs away.
