Shore Cottage is situated in the village of Tarbet, less than 1 hour from Glasgow Airport, and 5 minutes from Arrochar & Tarbet train station on the West Highland Railway Line. The property is ideally located for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to explore the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, trekking and biking in the Argyll Forest or climbing the Arrochar Alps. A great base from which to drive west to Inveraray or catch the train to Oban, Fort William and Mallaig.The house comfortably sleeps 10 guests with four double rooms and a bunkroom, flexible accommodation allows two doubles to become twin rooms. With a large living room boasting an open log fire, spacious conservatory with loch views, dining room and snug, Shore Cottage lends itself for a family get together, special occasion celebrations and outdoor adventure seekers. The garden has loch frontage onto the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond with stunning views south. The Loch offers numerous options for water based activities: kayaking; speed boat trips; and paddle boarding. Scheduled cruise and Waterbus Services depart daily from Tarbet Pier allowing you to access the inaccessible on the eastern shore and experience some of the hidden gems in the National Park such as the conservation village of Luss; Inchcailloch Island and the Ardess Hidden History Trail. Amazing setting, loved the beach and surroundings

This was the perfect place for a get together with family and friends. Bedrooms were far from living area so kids could sleep well. I loved the beach and the access to the loch. We took our paddleboards and it was perfect. Many thanks.

Nine adults had a lovely comfortable birthday celebration here. Much bigger and more stylishly decorated and furnished than the photographs show. A very comfortable and spacious property. Check in and correspondence was great.

Fabulous house

Family 90th birthday celebration

Beautiful location and excellent size of house with plenty of space for a family celebration. Lovely bed linen and towels. Comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of good quality dishes, glasses, and cutlery. A few pots and cooking trays could do with being renewed or deep cleaned. Would recommend and would visit again.

This is our second Hogamanay at the Shore House and we were thrilled to bits about the place and the location! It is ideal for walks and hikes in the mountains (even in the snow) and close to shopping and kilt rentals.

This place is absolutely beautiful the bedrooms and sitting rooms overlooking the lake are beautiful and peaceful, the cottage is well set up with everything that you need it’s like a home from home. I will definitely be back, it’s a nice peaceful break.

Paradise on Loch Lomond

We were recently lucky enough to stay at the Shore House in Tarbet right on the shore of Loch Lomond. It was absolutely perfect and beautiful! We traveled from Canada with our family and inlaws. We were a group of 10 including 4 kids. There was more than enough space for all of us in the house and every bedroom was great...although we especially loved the ones with a view of the lake and mountains! Our favourite room to spend time in was the windowed sitting area in the back. So relaxing after our adventure filled days exploring the area. The house was very clean and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The location is excellent. A short walk to the Tarbet Hotel, Pier, bike rentals and ferry rides. We also did a hike to Arrochar walking from the house and there's a nice little playground across the street for the kids. The owners were also great to deal with. They answered our questions right away and popped over to help fix the internet! We hope we can return one day. Thanks for making our vacation so special.

Perfect for a family get together

We stayed here for a surprise birthday party for my partner. House was perfect size, great to all (pretty much) have enjoyed suite. Loved the loch being just at bottom of the garden. Great wee starter pack left in the kitchen was much appreciated! Communication with Auchenheglish was great too - very friendly. Thankyou

Stunning accommodation on Loch Lomond

Wonderful family accommodation for our family gathering to celebrate our daughters wedding. The house was amazing, plenty of rooms with comfortable beds, absolutely stunning views of the loch. Beautiful garden and plenty of parking. Discount offered on the cruise on the loch which all 17 of the immediate family did - choppy day but still worth it. Excellent facilities and perfectly located. Nothing at all to complain about - it was simply perfect.

What a place

The house and location are just perfect for a family trip in Scotland. Considering the size of the house, it was incredibly clean and the facilities were more than enough for the capacity. With all these en suites, the kids felt like Kardashians. The added touch of being left bread, milk butter etc was such a kind yet unexpected gesture and provided the warmest welcome to kick start our week at shore house. I have already recommended to friends to check it out.

Comfy house with an extraordinary view

Lovely stay at the shore house

Shore House is in a beautiful location on the banks of Loch Lomond with a large garden and its own beach. The house Is dated but was very clean with a good supply of logs for the open fire. There was a problem with the heating system which was quickly remedied by the owners however our query about a missing sitting room curtain was unanswered, The master bedroom ensuite smelled slightly damp. Despite these minor irritations, our party which included 2 dogs and a baby had a lovely stay.

Booked for a family birthday so had an age range from 4 weeks to 90. The welcome pack was much appreciated and Liz was amazing, she helped us with a heating problem even when she wasn’t on duty. Only one personal thing, I prefer a softer mattress

wonderful location and view. Well spaced out, comfortable accommodation. Great service too.

My wider family (8 people) had a fantastic stay at Shore House, Tarbet. The view alone is enough to take your breath away. The house is effectively a convenient, single level layout with the bedrooms away from the living accommodation, which makes it really nicely spaced (noise, away from cooking smells etc). Lovely mature, well-managed garden which touches the Loch. Plenty of kitchen utensils, large full height fridge and large full height freezer, utility room and 3 bedrooms have en-suite facilities with one of the larger bedrooms (without en suite) being alongside the family bathroom, so this all works well. Tarbet is really convenient for getting around this Loch as well as the nearby ones (Long, Fyne, Katharine etc) and also for taking the ferry around Lomond and to the other side (eastern). all in all a wonderful stay. thanks so much! adam

Even nicer than expected

Shore cottage was even nicer than expected. Spacious and well equipped, spotlessly clean and with many thoughtful touches. The views were fantastic and it was lovely to be able to wander through the garden and down to the lake (we swam there every day). Although some things were shut locally due to lockdown, we still managed to do nearly everything we planned including wake-boarding, hiring bikes and taking a boat trip. Liz was exceptionally helpful and flexible with lockdown uncertainties - responding very quickly to emails, changing dates and so on. Our whole experience was very positive and we would certainly go again and highly recommend to others.
