Property is on quite a busy road i would not say very subtible for children. St Ives is a short distance away but car essential. The bathroom is very small and could do with an update there is an office on the top floor this would be better used as another bathroom. Lovely garden.

A great base for exploring
Porthgwidden Cottage is a great place to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. As a party of 4 adult's the rooms and facilities were fine although the downstairs bathroom is a tad on the small side. The upstairs bedroom in the eves tended to get quite warm, a fan would have helped. The main bedroom at the front of the property can be noisy as the amount of traffic was surprising. Disappointed with the garden, it was overgrown and unkept and the BBQ facilities provided were dirty and unusable. The property is right on the corner of a very busy road (difficult to cross at times, glad we didn't have young children). Car parking is not possible although we knew that when we booked and were provided with information on alternative options which worked well. The pub on the corner (Badgers) is great for food and drink and other establishments such as Birdies Bistro and the Old Forge are within walking distance and definitely worth a visit (book in advance) The train station to St Ives is just down the road and great for getting into town and not having to worry about the traffic and parking. We enjoyed our stay here, the weather forced us to explore more than we probably would have and this cottage is well placed to do that.

Busy Road
This holiday was with my partner and Daughter and Son in law and their two children aged 6yrs and 1yr 6mths, it would have been helpful if the description had stated that it was on the busy main road into St Ives, had we have known that fact we would not have considered it, also it said it had a small garden, it did not state it was on several levels with steps which were not child friendly. Therefore we did not use the garden.

Was a nice cottage had a great time
Was a lovely cottage. We were under impression we had a parking space but had to park on road opposite. Front bedroom bit noisy due to traffic, one suggestion I'd have is for office room at top to be turned into a toilet as long way downstairs and only one bathroom. All in all lovely cottage and we had a great week there. Very clean and everything and more we needed. thank you very much Cornwall hideaways we will use you again and recommend to others.
