Large updated1600 sq/ft ocean front condo in the centre of El Laguito. This condo is decorated in nautical theme to suit the breath taking view of the Caribbean sea with sunrises & sunsets on our wall to wall balcony. The open concept living/dinning room is perfect for socializing. Located immediately above Riquisimos BBQ restaurant that caters to the condo & private patio on the ocean. Secure area & building with many pharmacies, grocery stores, liquor stores, and restaurants next door.
The space
Beautiful spacious 4 bedroom apartment in the centre of El Laguito with beach/nautical themed decor. The four bedrooms are equipped with two queen sized beds, two single beds, and one set of bunkbeds. The condo contains one prinicipal bedroom and bathroom, a main bathroom and one half bathroom. The modern kitchen is equipped with a washer, dryer, stove/oven and fridge, as well as coffee maker, blender, and other small appliances. There are two tv's, one in the living room and another in the second biggest bedroom. Both tv's are smart tv;s that also have satellite channels. Note that the apartment is on the third floor with no elevator. If you have limited mobility, this may be a cause for concern.
The outside space contains an outdoor shower and private patio right on the ocean with steps to ankle deep water for condominium patrons and restaurant guests. We are also located one block from a public access beach.
Guest access
The entire apartment is yours and only yours. No other guests will be present during your stay. You have your own private balcony that stretches along the entire front of the apartment. There is a shared condo waterfront patio with water access. In addition, there is an outdoor shower to wash off any sand from the beach.
Initial interaction upon arrival for key exchange, nobody will be around unless needed.
Directly on the ocean with water surrounding everywhere. Many beaches within walking distance, including walkway from our private patio to a beach.
Wonderful variety in restaurants, shops, and necessities. Express grocery store next door with varying items from produce to alcohol.
Taxis have fixed prizes from suburb to suburb with the most expensive being $6. Everything is close and affordable. You should be able to simply hail a taxi on the street.
There are also regular taxis available at the airport that can transfer you to the apartment for $6-$8 US, (20,000 pesos).
Kitchen comes equipped with fridge, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker for all your cooking needs.
While there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms of the apartment, you'll find it is not necessary. With the breeze coming from the ocean through the many windows, and the ceiling fans in every room, you'll be more than comfortable. Note there is also no hot water which is standard for this neighbourhood and older builds.

Looks good too many broken/malfunctioning appliances.
A/C only worked for 2 of the 4 days. The A/C units do not cool the bedrooms. You will not sleep well in the summer. Bedrooms are too hot. There were no shower heads on the showers. No hot water... the dryer didn’t work. The appliances and utensils are very cheap.
We only sleep in the condo one night.. all others nights we slept in hotels. Hot shower and A/C at night are impot...

The summer months in Cartagena are extremely hot and difficult to cool a 1600 sq ft condo. There are shower heads, just sometimes guest twist them off for different water pressure. They were likely sitting on the benches in the showers. There is no hot water in all older buildings and in many suburbs of Cartagena. The no hot water was not a surprise as its stated in the condo description. The dryer does work, there is a chance that the Spanish instructions weren't correctly translated. The appliances are not cheap as the washer and dryer are samsung and text you when a load is complete and were bought in 2017. The fridge, oven and tv's and microwave were all also bought in 2017 as this was the year we renovated the condo. Some of the brands you may not recognize as they are Colombian and not the ones you're used to from the states. Most people do not complain about the lack of hot water as you boil water to cook and wash dishes and no body wants to take a hot shower in the Colombian humidity.

Amazing atmosphere and view!!
The view is amazing! The two restaurants down below are so welcoming and great food! You really do feel like your at home but in just a beautiful and amazing city! You can easily take a taxi anywhere in the city for about $3. Will definitely come back! Triana was an amazing host!

Great property and great location
We had a love time at this property!
The view was out of this world! We could walk out the door to the beach. We could swim outside the building and if we wanted to go downtown it was a $3 taxi ride with taxis right outside the building.
A truly magical place to which I would love to return!

Hello! I am from Northern Ontario Canada. My family is however from Colombia and we love to share our condo with guests during the summer months when we enjoy the warm Canadian weather. Otherwise, my parents love staying in Cartagena in our condo for the winter months!
Why they chose this property
We chose this area many moons ago for the small community feel, the safety of the large resorts and police station next door, the quiet beaches, and the proximity to downtown. Just far enough away that you're on the ocean, with quieter evening, but only a 7-10 minute taxi away depending on traffic.
What makes this property unique
This property is unique in that it is an older building with lots of history. You won't feel like a business runs the place as there are only 8 condos, no elevator, gym, or pool. Just families who have lived here for years who enjoy the ocean and neighbourhood.
