The house was so warm and inviting. The views were incredible. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time in Estes Park and this home was the icing on the cake for a very relaxing vacation
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Elk House in Estes Park. It's close and convenient to get to town and RMNP. The house is very comfortable and spacious. The views are beautiful as well! I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent home. We absolutely loved staying there. Close to everything we needed during our stay.
Excellent property. Great for families. We highly recommend this home. It is clean, well decorated, and contributes to a great experience when visiting Estes Park and RMNP. Ever

Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed staying with us. We hope you will come back and stay with us in the future.
House was lovely with great views and a nice hot tub. I was unaware of the additional agreement that needed to be signed prior to getting instructions to access the property which is why I gave that 3 stars. Very clean. 2 bedrooms esssentially in the basement which was a bit musty and had stains in the carpet in one room. For the price that was paid a later checkout would have been nice but we made it work. Overall nice stay and we got to see elk from the back porch.
Overall the house is very nice and very large. It could use some updating of furniture and style. The master bedroom needs a king size bed, although the bed it has is very comfortable. Good hot tub. No AC. Location is fine, not awesome as far as surrounding, but easy to get places. "Welcome basket" was not good. Coffee had been spilled in it so many filters were gross. Nice package of coffee was left wide open. One package of popcorn was sticky from the spill. Not welcoming at all. Prior to trip I had inquired about a Keurig and was told they did not have one. They do have one. A few elk spotted during the week. Overall nice stay but could use some attention.
This property is beautiful and has gorgeous views of the mountains. However, just a few improvements that need to be done to the property:
1. We found two roaches in the basement of the property.
2. The water heater did not have enough water to cover all of us when we tried to shower one after the other.
3. My family and I were traveling to Estes Park for a wedding and had a tight window to change and make it for the festivities. Therefore, we asked the owner if we could enter in 15 minutes early so we could change and be on time and the owner said there would be a $200+ charge to check in early for that. I think that is a relatively easy accommodation that could have been met considering the owner admitted the property was ready for us at the time.
Great location to Estes Park. Easily accessible from main roads. House sits in location to see over other homes around it and into native areas across Fall Creek Road. Although neighbors around the home, it still felt very private as we sat on the back deck. Saw elk and deer every morning and lots of hummingbirds.
The house was great for our large group - lots of places to sit and a table that fit us all. Plenty of towels and it was clean if you didn't move the furniture. A few solid reasons for the three-star rating though:
- The biggest issue was the steep driveway. It snowed quite a bit and, unknown to us, we had to shovel it. There was one snow shovel and one gardening shovel. We spent five hours over two days clearing and pushing cars up the incline to get out. (There was a snow machine, but no instructions on how to use it.) When I contacted the owner they only offered to bring salt by on the last morning... but they didn't! We bought our own and did a bunch of work to clear it out. Luckily, we're all young and somewhat fit... we worried about older groups who might stay there. They really should get a service or something.
- A lot of lightbulbs were out. At least four throughout the house not including the nightlights. The stairs were kind of dark so that could have been dangerous.
- The pullout couch in the basement is absolutely awful. Two thin layers of foam on creaky springs. One of us ended up sleeping upstairs on a regular couch because it was so bad. It needs to be replaced.
- The basement rooms were SO COLD. Even when we turned the heat up and had the basement fireplace on it was still really chilly down there. Also, there were extra sheets but no extra blankets. We went to bed cold every night.
- We ran out of basic household supplies like dishwasher soap and paper towels and had to buy our own. (Promise we didn't use a lot.)
- The hot tub smelled mossy and there wasn't anywhere to hang towels. The snow also blew in so you had to walk on snow to get in. (The view was very nice though! And semi-private)
Overall, we felt like it was pricey for what we got, but luckily we were mostly there for our own company anyway. Hope they figure out the few things above, then I'd happily recommend!
Close to everything! Make sure if you don’t get a timed RMNP times permit that you take advantage of the Lamier county parks like Horsetooth Mtn. Loved our stay but would have liked air conditioning.
This was a wonderful location for family who had not been together for over 1.5 year with our pandemic crisis. The home was warm, welcoming, relaxing. Thank you.

Our stay at The Elk House was wonderful! The property was extremely clean and very spacious for our family of 5. The convenience of the location allowed us to experience all the fun in the area, and then have an easy drive back home to soak in the hot tub. We were greeted by a mule deer when we arrived at the property, and visited by several elk (even a momma with 3 babies!) during our stay. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful property with us! The team was great to work with - they were quick to communicate, and very responsive to questions.

Only downside was WiFi kept going out, but I think this is beyond the control of the owners.

We really enjoyed our short stay in this home. We were pleased with the attention to detail - the kitchen had all of the essential tools for cooking, the hot tub was ready to go, and the house was very clean. The check-out process and rules for staying in the home weren't overly complicated, which made it easy to enjoy just being there.
We've been to Estes many times as a couple and then a small family, and we've probably stayed almost everywhere in Estes. This year we were looking to share the experience with our family and invited my brother-in-law and his kids to spend Thanksgiving with us.
This place had it all. Fantastic location with stellar mountain views. Close to the action but still felt very private. The hot tub was clean with all the bells and whistles. Lots of space and supplies for cooking the turkey dinner that we snagged from Safeway up the street.
We had 7 and we had PLENTY of space to have us and the kids to get a bit of distance. Fireplace was easy and warmed up the entire open style living space.
Even garage space to get your cars out of the snow.
Loved the Xmas decorating for the season and would for sure be back again. Quick communication and Jill made sure we had everything we needed.
We stayed here during the month of December 2019. The house was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. We got to see Elk walk by the house a few times. The drive into town was just a short distance away. The Stanley hotel was nearby and offered tours. Pros - The home was very nice, felt welcoming and was fully stocked with everything needed. Cons - There wasn't a large variety of pans in the kitchen. One of the pans was rusty. I use All Clad cookware , so I’m accustom to good quality pans. Also, the mattress in the master bedroom was well worn and should be replaced. This is especially noted to those who prefer a firm mattress. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Elk house and I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your comments on the mattress. It is hard to get a mattress which is just right because everyone has a different opinion on what is the best. We will definitely take a look at it to see if it needs to be replaced. We hope you will come back and stay with us again.
We used the home for a short fall holiday to explore Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Home was immaculate. Great views of the mountains. Wild life in the front yard every morning. Would strongly recommend.
This house was spacious for 6 adults. It was immaculately clean. A lot of daily use items were provided (hand soap, lotions, shampoos, etc). The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans and dishes. The beds were comfortable. There are 2 separate areas on each level with fireplaces to relax. The hot tub on the deck was great to soak in after a day of hiking. We could hear the elk bugling at night from the deck. We stayed during the elk rut so we were treated with elk in the yard every morning. Such a neat sight to see. We also took morning walks past the golf course and saw more elk. Great time to visit! This place was extraordinary! We had a wonderful vacation!
