About this property

Sleeps 8 (6 adults, 2 kids), house & parking & garden, 3 mins drive to beaches

This is a contemporary, open-plan property overlooking the Cornish countryside, situated just 3 minutes drive from the glorious Holywell Bay and 5 minutes from Crantock and Porth Joke Beaches.

The house offers private parking for 2 cars and plenty more in front of the house on the road. To the side of the property is gate-access to a small garden with summer-house (open in warmer months only) for those quiet moments with a book or an early evening drink, a hose for washing down the dogs and surfboards, a washing line and contemporary, comfortable garden furniture for making the most of the summer sun.

The hallway to the property leads into an open-plan living/kitchen/dining room with comfy sofas, TV, DVD player and a variety of family games and DVDs. Shutters on the French doors at the front of the house help control the light and privacy. The fully-equipped kitchen/diner with breakfast bar is a on open and sociable space with integrated fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, fan oven, induction hob and hood, kettle, toaster along with all the equipment you will need to cook from home. A sliding glass door takes you straight out to the garden.

A separate utility room houses a washing machine and condenser tumble drier, separate sink and coat hanging space, with access from the garden for returns from those wet and wintry walks or salty, sandy summer beach days. Off the utility room is the downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms sleeping 6 adults plus bunks for 2 children (only): 1 King, 2 Doubles and 1 Bunk Room (a separate trundle bed or travel cot is available on request).

Bedroom 1: king-size bed; Juliet balcony overlooking the countryside; ample drawer space; en-suite shower room with heated towel-rail

Bedroom 2: double bed; drawer space

Bedroom 3: double bed; wardrobe

Bedroom 4: bunk beds for children; drawer space

Family bathroom: bath with shower, toilet and heated towel rail.

The quiet village of Cubert offers everything you will need to enjoy a short stay: pubs, post-office and convenience store, bakery, cafe, church, dog-walking green, and famous fish and chip shop. Larger supermarkets are 10 minutes away in Newquay (Morrisons, Lidl, Asda are the closest).

Newquay is a 10-minute drive away, offering a variety of beaches, restaurants, shopping, cinemas and entertainment including Waterworld for swimming with the family.

Truro and Perranporth are both a 15-minute drive away, offering a quieter alternative to Newquay with more independent businesses and eateries. Regular buses operate from Cubert to Newquay, Truro and Perranporth and offer the chance for some real adventures: why not get the bus to Perranporth and walk back along the coast path to Holywell and Cubert?

The house faces south-east over-looking the beautiful countryside towards the clay mines of St Dennis.

Dogs are welcome but MUST remain OFF sofas and DOWNSTAIRS at all times please.

This is a tranquil, family home, perfect for stays in any season, ideally located for all sorts of Cornish adventures.

A great break
I stayed at Kate and Tom’s house with my husband, 3 children and our two Mum’s. The house was much bigger than it looks in the photos - there was plenty of space for us all to not feel cramped. It was lovely to have a home from home as a base for our first family holiday in a long time. The beds were super comfy, we all slept amazingly, the kitchen was really well equipped and there was plenty of space for us all to relax without being on top of each other. The garden sadly didn’t get used as we didn’t have the best weather but it looked great. The only tiny niggles we had were the fact there wasn’t a DVD player as written on the ad - not really a problem but the kids had picked DVDs to bring and were a bit disappointed when tired after days out! There were also no oven gloves which resulted in a few burns, but again we survived and it didn’t spoil the holiday. Overall we would definitely come back to Kate and Tom’s house - the location was perfect for finding loads of things to do, the village was great and the chippy was fantastic! :-)

Visit to Cornwall
This property is in an excellent location to explore Cornwall. The property is very spacious and modern. Would definitely suit a family. The area was nice and quiet. The fish and chippy was excellent. If you like walking, there are footpaths to explore. A short journey away by car you can find pubs with restaurants too. We had Sunday lunch at The Smugglers Inn very nice. I would recommend this property to explore this area of Cornwall.

Large Property with some drawbacks
The property is spacious enough but cleaning needs to be addressed. We found dirty plates in the cupboard and on the cutting boards. There also was a lack of basic amenities like soap in the bathrooms, soap to wash glasses or any paper towels. There is a new housing development going in so the road to access the property from the village was blocked with no directions on how to get around it. Luckily Google Maps was working to find an alternative. Fans would be a welcome addition as it is a warm property during summer months.
