Perfect holiday home
Beautiful house located about 150metres from the beach. There are two shops next door where you can buy groceries and there is a fish and chip shop next to the shops. A two minute walk past the shops towards the beach is a nice pub. Couldn’t have asked for more

Weekend Magic
A gem of a find for being close to the finish of the Event - ARC of Attrician, 50 or 100 mile Extreme Coastal Run in Porthtowan on 29th January 2022, spacious 4 bedroomed house with ample parking .... The property was well equipped, modern and stylish all of the above essential fwe were looking for, for our January stay. Proved to be a superb base for supporting family involved in the Event. Finished off the Sunday with walks on the beach and a trip to Padstow. So ideal for touring around North and West Cornwall. Would certainly recommend it. A little more attention to the outside garden planters, area and shed would make it a fabulous summer staycation venue currently it is crying out for some TLC... Would not put us off coming again in January 2023 but would enhance the experience for others who visit during the Summer months. Will keep it on our 'return list' Thank you.

Disappointed.
This could be a stunning property if only if had a proper clean and maintenance review. It's very neglected and we reported many issues, broken over door, tumble dryer does not work, washing machine floods, shower trays blocked, extractor in the shower room not working..and lots of other niggles. The freezer needs a defrost to be usable, we unblocked and emptied the hoover ourselves after finding a sewing needle on the lounge rug. I can honestly say I think we left it cleaner than we found it..and minus the wotsit's causing the hoover blockage. The kitchen cupboards resemble the kitchen area of a charity shop, a real mismash of items, chiped and broken but an extraordinary amount of plates. Over 30. But only 2 wine glasses! The location is awsome but we're biased as this is our 8th stay in Porthtowan, but first and last time this property. Its a real shame as it could be awesome but if it's in this state at the start of the main summer season I fread to think what it'll be like in September, not mentioning covid and the extra cleaning time that is now allocated. We won't go back and if you're booked to go be prepared..thankfully the lovely village stores a few shops down sells all the cleaning products you might need.

Another great stay at Spring Tide
What a great place this is - so close to the beach and such a homely feel, both in the house and around the village. So many little touches that make the week easy, from the outside shower for post-surfing wash-downs to the internal space and decoration of the house itself. We loved it the first time and this was no different - already booked to come back!

Loved the house but shame about the garden!
We chose Spring Tide to stay in after our original booking in another property was cancelled firstly due to COVID and then secondly because they stopped doing holiday rentals in that property! The house itself is lovely and the red kitchen had everything you could ever want to use if you loved cooking? We were left a super hamper and lovely toiletries. Sadly for us the actual location of the house was not what we would normally go for. Not Porthtowan as that is a great place to stay but the position of the house.it was totally overlooked and no view worth mentioning. The worst bit was the garden. The size was great and it was enclosed for the dogs but it was overgrown with weeds and lots of overgrowth hanging into the garden from the property behind. It truly looks a mess and we felt for the money charged we expect a good garden as well as the house. The weather was dreadful but sadly as it was not a relaxing garden to sit in even if the weather had been kinder we would not want to sit out there!! We felt it needed love and attention to make it more appealing. I know the beach was very close but not everyone wants to sit on a beach all day and we normally ,weather permitting love to relax in the garden after doing long dog walks. Perhaps the reasons above are why there are no photos of the actual house or garden on the website of this property? (Well not when I booked it) We did like the house but sadly we would not stay again for the reasons mentioned.
