We enjoyed our stay at Steve’s place. It was nice and quiet for us and Steve gave many recommendations on places to eat and what to see. I would stay again if we are ever in Amsterdam again. We came to see the tulips and they didn’t disappoint. We rented bikes in the Lisse area and saw them on our own and didn’t do the gardens. The train and bus are easy to navigate with the 9292 app.
We really appreciated the personal touch of the host Steve. It is rare for a host to greet you these days & go over everything - most places we've stayed are contactless. The bed was comfy, towels large & plush, water hot, lots of hangers, good cooking supplies (although we only eat breakfast "in"), and the location was fun! Highly recommend Steve's place.
Can't say enough about the location - easy to get everywhere and so close to canals, boutiques and restaurants. It is in a quaint but busy area. The bedroom in the back is very quiet once you shut the door to the front room that faces the street. Totally recommend. One note is the property manager prefers to communicate via Whatsapp which is totally normal for Europeans. Not so much for Americans and often a red flag if you have ever been on a dating site, approached by a scammer or gotten the Nigerian prince emails where they always want to message via Whatsapp. I was hesitant at first but in this case it is totally legit.
As extensive travelers, we often use VRBO for accommodations. I must say that Steve’s place has been one of the best. The space is everything he describes and more. Steve communicated so well from the start. From his directions to arrive as well as the time he spent checking us in to his home, was above and beyond. What a great location to the many beautiful sites of Amsterdam. I highly recommend this beautiful space.
The apartment is in a great location, with shops, restaurants and a supermarket nearby. My daughter and I felt very safe in the area. We also felt very much at home - the kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, the front room was a great place to relax, nice shower and bathroom and all was scrupulous clean. Steve was a welcoming host who provided great recommendations for restaurants in the area and answered all my inquiries quickly and informatively. Checkin and checkout were seamless, and Steve was flexible with an early checkin as the apartment was available that day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!
Great neighborhood, lots of cafes and restaurants, shops, grocery stores, close to the tram. Has in suite laundry. Host lives on site, was very welcoming and offered many suggestions on restaurants and things to do. Would recommend!
Steve was just so helpful and communicative throughout the process. Gave us recommendations on restaurants, how to get places using public transportation, and answered any questions we had. The unit itself was amazingly large, warm, clean, and comfortable for our December travels. Loved that the living room area was in the front and had its own door so if it was loud at night (which it never was) then we can close it. Steve’s very thoughtful and had all the things we’d need to feel at home (including a good old coffee maker - not an espresso machine). Location was perfect. Cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping were minutes walk away. Would stay here again, and again, and again! Thank you Steve for your warm hospitality and lovely space.
This apartment is well-appointed and charming. The location is excellent. The host, Steve, was amazing at communicating and giving us helpful tips before and during our stay. To be truthful, the flight of stairs to the apartment are a bit treacherous, but the apartment is well worth it. Overall, we had a phenomenal stay. Five stars!!
Amsterdam was a stop on our honeymoon trip, and this apartment was the perfect resting place. The location is unbeatable. The apt was much roomier than we’d expected, which was a treat. The host was so helpful w getting us oriented in the apartment and the city. He even saved us a ton of time by telling us about the anirport express bus. A great surprise - the washer and dryer. Yay, we were able to do laundry. Very happy about that. We highly recommend this location and host.
Stayed here, went to Paris for a few days, and then came back and stayed again. Both times were perfect.
To tell you how nice it was staying here, I can give you a little story. I had left a shirt here the first stay, and upon our return it was waiting for us (laundered, folded, and next to a vase of flowers). I mean that's just nice.
If you stay with Steve, he treats you quite well, and his apartment is delightful, cozy, comfortable, and in a great location.
Great host, great location, great city.
Steve is very communicative, very helpful and really goes out of his way to make sure you have what you need.
The place is close to a lot of interesting places around the city.
The stairs are very steep, but that is very common in the city. Just know before you book if you have mobility issues. We were fine.
Would stay again. No hesitation.
The location was excellent, the property was clean and comfortable, and the host was welcoming and helpful. You can tell that great care was put into making sure this is a great place to stay
We had a great time staying at Steve’s apartment in Amsterdam. He was a very helpful and responsive host. The apartment itself is in a prime location and a short walk from a lot of top attractions. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Nice place with everything that one would need for a stay. The apartment is around a bunch of shops and cafes, and just a short walk to any public transit.
We stayed 4 nights at the end of a 2 week trip. The owner provided excellent directions from the airport and met us on arrival. The flat had everything we needed, including laundry facilities which we ended up not needing. The owner made great recommendations for restaurants and check out was easy. Would definitely stay again!
The place was impeccable, the location fantastic, the host was very gracious, pro-active and helpful. We also loved the cafe across the street for breakfast and evening drinks just a few steps from our rental.
TOP MARKS go to Malenkas - the host . He responded quite quickly to all of our questions and provided us with many suggestions for places to eat, etc.
The apartment is clean, well equipt conveniently located in the 9 streets area but is quiet and peaceful in the evenings.
Taking Bus 397 from Schiphol to the apartment was easy and quick.
We had a very good stay! Would recommend to others.
The apartment is in a charming ideal location with a canal just around the corner. It's away from the tourists area but close enough to visit them.
The apartment is very clean and well equiped with all the amenities needed such as a nice little kitchen where we made breakfast every morning to start our days.
Of note for those with mobility issues, there are a small steep set of stairs to enter the apartment which is typical of dutch homes. We however had zero problems with the stairs.
Steve, the host is great and very helpful! He provides detailed instructions about the apartment and the city. All communications are handled easily & promptly.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend this apartment and would gladly return ourselves!

We enjoyed staying at Steve's property. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. The Nine Streets neighborhood is a great location close to canals, shops and restaurants.Steve was very helpful meeting us, providing information about the property , neighborhood and wonderful restaurant information. There is one very steep flight of stairs which was not a problem for us but could be for some.
