About this property

New Sauna Stone Quarry Studio apartment

Historical building in downtown Del Norte, CO. Apartment is above a restaurant and in walking distance to retail shops including a local microbrewery restaurant. Just a short drive to Wolf Creek ski area and other local attractions.
We now have a portable air conditioner unit available in the apartment.

The space

queen bed, walk in shower only, working kitchen including coffee maker, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, oven/stove, shared washer and dryer in hallway. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, with eating and cooking utensils. There is a staircase to walk up to studio apartment.
We now have an air conditioning and heating unit in the apartment.
As of 10/2016, We added a TV with DVD player that has wifi. There is NO cable.

Guest access

Keypad entrance into hallway that leads up to apartment, hallway has access to the washer and dryer, key lock box to access apartment key at door for easy check in and out.

Interaction with guests

The apartment is a self check in and check out. It uses a keypad deadbolt to enter in the staircase and a key lock box to access keys. This way we are able to offer flexible check in and check out times. Instructions on how to access apartment will be given after a quest books. We will be available anytime to answer questions or offer recommendations.

Right on the main street. Upstairs above a restaurant, but quiet and comfortable. Simple set up with nothing fancy. But plenty of the comforts of home made it great for my stay.

Great base for exploring

Simple clean apartment right on main street. Bed, bathroom and kitchen all exceed needs and expectations for a great stay while you explore this part of Colorado. Brewery across the street for great eats and a pint. This place is a great option for single or couple travelers who want a great place to stay at a good price. Perfect for skiing at Wolf Creek, slightly farther than South Fork but with better restaurants and more affordable gas while still being on the better side of the pass for getting up to Wolf Creek. Second year staying at this place and it is definitely a preferred choice for future stays!

It was a cute apartment and they stocked it well. They even left towels specific to dry off your snowboard and skis. They communicated well about how to get in the apartment. It’s on the Main Street so a number of cafes, restaurants, and cute little shops within walking distance. The drive to Wolf Creek for snowboarding was less than an hour. When I come back to ski I will try to get this apartment again. My only note is that you have to walk about 20 stairs to get to it, so if that’s a problem for you then you might want to find another place.

We were taken back by how to find the apartment and the 23 steep steps that lead to the apartment. We were able to handle it but many people would need a warning. The apartment was great, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was functional but I really needed a bedside table and chairs for the counter that had backs. We are older and needed more accommodations for elderly.

It meets all my needs with a comfy bed, kitchen and Netflix. I do still think it needs a full length mirror and darker curtains in the kitchen. The sun wakes me up about 530. I'll continue to book whenever I'm in the area.

Cute, clean studio

There was one small hiccup with getting the wrong code for the door key and I unfortunately had to call the owner fairly late but she provided me with the correct code and we were able to get in. Other than that the stay was great. The area was cute and convenient. The studio itself had nice, thoughtful touches. I would recommend darker curtains to block out the morning light and a full length mirror. Overall I would stay again and recommend.

Good Stay

Stairs are difficult at our age. The apartment is very well appointed. The TV only worked one afternoon, after that the sound was clicking in and out and made it impossible to watch. It was VERY cold when we were there and the small heater did a pretty good job except for the bathroom. Overall, very pleasant.

Good bed, good bathroom, nice owners!

The owners have updated this space in a quaint old building with high ceilings. When we were having trouble with the tv, Chad came by and helped us. He is proud of the cabinetry he’s made and we had everything we needed. We were worried about noise from the restaurant below, but we never heard a sound. Nice little town, near roads leading into the San Juan Mountains and a multitude of “14ers”.

What a great experience - first time using VRBO!

This was a small and intimate studio apartment. Just the right size for us! All of the extras were there - paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, fan, heater, overhead fan and light, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dishes, hand towels, wash clothes. It felt like being at home. Laura and Chad were great in answering our questions and getting back to us promptly. They provided a binder with information and various places to visit. All in all, it was a great trip for us and our accommodations were fantastic!
