Excellent place and great host. Have never given a 5 star rating before. This place is worth it

The appartement is well located with an amazing view. You can reach the restaurants and beach in a 10 min walk.

Wonderful home and hosts

Juan’s home was perfect. Situated on the hill above town and the ocean, it was truly a special place. The home was beautifully decorated and furnished with everything we could possibly need. He even gave us a tour of his amazing gardens and picked fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs for us to enjoy. Truly a special stay. Thank you!

A great little home in a nice little town. The host Juan and his family go above and beyond what is expected. Not only is the house perfect, the host provides wonderful recomendations for everything from dinner to hiking locations. We 100% want to rerurn.

Greatly exceeded our expectations

What an amazing place! Everything was perfect from the great updated apartment to the incredible ocean views. The property sits on a beautiful banana farm with chickens and tons of other things growing. Every morning, Juan let us grab eggs and pick fresh produce for breakfast, it was incredible. Really can’t recommend this place enough, just book it already. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful!

You can stop looking, you have found the perfect place to stay in Madeira! What you get is a beautiful decorated, perfectly equipped, cosy house with a breathtaking view, lots of sunshine und the best hosts you can wish for. Ponta do Sol is a pretty little village with nice restaurants, a little beach, a supermarket close by and spectacular views of the sunset over the altlantic. You can start your day from here and the location is perfect if you like to explore the island. Juan and Catia are super caring, very easy going and attentive and always there to help and answer questions. We loved the fruit and vegetables from their own garden, which they generousely shared with us. So hit the "Book now"-button and you won't regret it. Muito obrigada to Juan and Catia and até logo!

Best VRBO Experience of Our Lives

Staying at Encanto do Sol is to experience the heart and soul of Madeira. The warmth and hospitality of Juan and Catia made our six-week stay unforgettable for all the right reasons. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, private and quiet and just a short (steep) walk down to the village. Catia and Juan gave us exceptional recommendations for Levada walks, grocery stores, restaurants, cultural information and even where to get a manicure & pedicure. The central location of Ponto do Sol was a perfect spot for exploring the rest of the island. They were available to answer questions and their kindness and generosity have guaranteed a return visit. We cannot wait to come back! We especially appreciate Juan and Catia's passion for growing things. They love their garden and shared their bounty with us; papaya, tomatoes, herbs and eggs from the happiest hens on the planet! Juan took us to BAM, the banana museum and we now have a deeper appreciation of the importance of this crop for Madeira. If you want to experience village life with spectacular sea views, look no further than Encanto do Sol! Must do list in Ponto do Sol: -Visit the Banana Museum-it will forever change your understanding of bananas. Try the banana beer! -Go to the Old Pharmacy and try Madeira's traditional pastry pastel de nata, the tapas are wonderful too! -Walk up the hill to the Nicola and try Francisco's lemon poncha and buy the bolo de mel (honey cake) and bolo doce-delicious! It powered us through many hikes! -Do the Levada do Minho & Levada Nova-a fantastic walk practically on your doorstep

Tolle Unterkunft

Für uns war es der perfekte Standort für 2 Wochen Madeira. Sehr gute Ausstattung, modern und freundlich eingerichtet, äußerst sauber. Sehr netter Gastgeber, der bei Fragen leicht und schnell erreichbar ist. Der Standort ist sehr geschickt, um zügig an alle Ecken Madeiras zu gelangen. Der Ort Ponta do Sol bietet einen netten Kiesstrand, gute Restaurants, einen kleinen Supermarkt mit Tankstelle und schöne Sonnenuntergänge! Alles zu Fuß erreichbar (ok, der Weg ist steil, wie oft auf der Insel).

Best location!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Juan and Catina’s property for our 10th wedding anniversary. The location on the island is perfect - close to a nice levada walk recommended by Catia, beautiful views, easy (but steep!) walk down to the sea front where we watched beautiful sunsets and ate delicious foods. We rented a car for the week and were able to go explore all over the island - highly recommend that. Then we came home to a lovely soak each day In the hot tub, ahhh heaven! Our favorite restaurants in Ponta do Sol were Caprice (great food and service), Steak and Sun, and Sol Poente for a cocktail and sunset viewing. Juan and Catia were great hosts, even took the time to sit down with us on our last night and share a bottle of champagne. Madeira is an incredible place. We would be lucky to come back to Juan and Catias place. Thanks again!!

A fantastic property ideal for a couple the owners are very hospitable and can’t do enough to help without being intrusiveThe house is designed well with all the amenities you need,a beautiful garden and fantastic sea view makes this a great place to stay and I can thoroughly recommend it.

Formidable !

L’emplacement à Madere est idéal pour visiter toute l’île et de surcroît c’est l’endroit le plus ensoleillé. Le logement est parfait, très propre, bien équipé, avec 2 jolies terrasses vu mer et bananiers, et la plage et le petit village de ponta do sol sont accessibles à pieds en 10 mn, 900 mètres.certes, il faut avoir de bonnes jambes car à Madere, tout est en montée ou en descente. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et Juan et son épouse y ont grandement contribué. Ce sont des hôtes charmants, à l’écoute et extrêmement gentils. Nous retournerons certainement à Madere et nous réserverons de nouveau chez Juan. Vous pouvez vous y rendre les yeux fermés.

Traumhafte Ferienunterkunft

Die Lage ist einfach phänomenal: Traumhafter Blick von der Terrasse ins Tal und zum Ozean und absolut ruhig gelegen. Das Ferienhaus ist exzellent ausgestattet, es fehlt an rein gar nichts. Leider konnten wir wetterbedingt den lauschigen "Ausguck" im Garten nicht nutzen. Das heben wir uns fürs nächste Mal auf. Vielen Dank an die Gastgeber Juan und Catia für den freundlichen Empfang und die herzlichen Empfangs- und Abschiedsgeschenke.

Excellent holiday in a beautiful house

We had an excellent stay in this spacious house, surrounded by banana trees and decorated with great taste. It is very well located (5 minutes walk from the village and the beach). The location allows you to visit the whole island. Cathya and Juan's welcome was very warm and allowed us to have many exchanges. We are used to booking via VRBO or others and this rental was without doubt the most beautiful. We highly recommend this property

Superblick vom Balkon einer sehr schönen Wohnung

Wir haben knapp 3 Wochen in der komfortabel eingerichteten Wohnung, in der alles vorhanden war, was man an Einrichtung und Küchenausstattung braucht. Alles war in einem sehr gepflegten Zustand und stilistisch aufeinander abgestimmt. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und der Blick vom Balkon auf den Ozean traumhaft. Wir haben das extra Sofa auf dem Balkon und den Essplatz sehr genossen. Das Bett war exzellent und Mitternacht im Whirlpool liegend den Mond anhimmeln, war etwas ganz Neues. Juan und Catia war sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die uns mit einem Willkommensgeschenk überraschten. Ein sehr schöner Urlaub.
