About this property

18th century 2 bed cottage in Hartington with private garden

Our much loved 18th century cottage is by the duck pond and award winning cheese shop in the popular village of Hartington, with plenty of amenities including a a cafe, 2 pubs, 2 food shops and a gift shop. Glorious countryside and wonderful walking and cycling from the front door. Lots of attractions within a short distance, including the spa town of Buxton, famous for the opera festival in July, market town of Bakewell, Ashbourne and the historic houses Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham and Poole’s Cavern are just a few of the family day trips on offer.

The village is popular with walkers and has numerous well marked footpaths leading to, amongst others, Beresford Dale, Dovedale and Arbor Low. Hartington is on the Peak Pilgrimage and we are close to the Tissington Trail, Monsal Trail and High Peak Trail for cycling/walking. Bike hire is available 5 minutes away, in Parsley Hay.

We are 15 minutes drive from the lovely market towns of Buxton, Ashbourne & Bakewell. By car, Hartington is 50 minutes from Sheffield, 1h 15 from Manchester and 1h from Nottingham.
