This cosy cottage is located in the picturesque village of Grindleford, right in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Recently renovated to a high standard while retaining its original cottage charm, it offers a warm and welcoming base for couples, walkers and dog owners looking to enjoy the Peak District at a relaxed pace.

To the rear of the property is a private enclosed garden with open views and a lovely summer house overlooking Froggatt Edge. The garden and summer house enjoy the sun throughout the day and provide a peaceful spot for morning coffee, relaxing after a walk or simply sitting back and taking in the scenery.

The location is ideal for exploring on foot or by bike. Some of the Peak District’s most loved walks are right on the doorstep, including Padley Gorge, the Longshaw Estate and riverside routes leading towards Hathersage and beyond. Grindleford also has its own train station with good links to surrounding villages, as well as Sheffield and Manchester, making it easy to explore without relying on the car.

The village itself has a friendly and welcoming feel, with a local pub and a hotel restaurant offering convenient places to eat out. Well known attractions such as Chatsworth House and many other Peak District highlights are also just a short drive away.

Inside, the cottage is arranged over three floors and has been thoughtfully designed to feel both comfortable and sociable. On the ground floor, the entrance leads directly into the living room, where comfortable sofas, a log burner with ambient lighting, and a Sky Q TV create a cosy and relaxing space, perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. A dining area sits to the rear of the living room and flows naturally into the kitchen, making the ground floor ideal for spending time together.

On the first floor, there is a well presented double bedroom with a luxurious mattress and quality bedding to ensure a great night’s sleep. The main bathroom is located next door and features a large walk in shower, WC and basin.

The second floor offers a spacious king size bedroom with its own en suite shower room. A large Velux window overlooks Froggatt Edge, bringing in plenty of natural light and offering beautiful views across the surrounding landscape, creating a calm and private retreat.

Dog friendly and full of character, this cottage is ideal for guests who want excellent walking, beautiful scenery and a comfortable place to return to at the end of the day. Whether you are heading out for long hikes, exploring nearby villages or simply relaxing in the garden and summer house with views of Froggatt Edge, it is a wonderful base for enjoying the Peak District.

It is surrounded by some of the most beautiful walking and cycling routes in the area, with places like Padley Gorge, Froggatt Edge and the Longshaw Estate right on the doorstep. The scenery is open, peaceful and constantly changing, making it a place you never tire of returning to.

What we enjoy most is the balance the village offers. It feels quiet and tucked away, yet has a train station with great links to nearby villages and cities, making it easy to explore without always using the car. We have spent a lot of time here ourselves and fell in love with how relaxed the area feels, whether you are heading out for long walks or simply enjoying the views from the garden. It is a place that encourages you to slow down and really enjoy being in the countryside.

We have spent a lot of time here ourselves and designed the cottage to be a place where guests can truly switch off. It is dog friendly, thoughtfully set up and offers something a little different from a typical village cottage, making it a place guests often want to return to.
