About this property
Gamekeeper's Heddon Valley - pet friendly, peaceful and close to SW coast path
Sleeps four – Gamekeeper’s cottage has a kitchen, bathroom, large ground floor double bedroom, sitting room and first floor bedroom with twin beds (accessed via spiral staircase). There is a large balcony and a patio with seating and both with wonderful views. Outside, there is a secure shared garden for all the cottages with a picnic table.
In the heart of the Exmoor National Park this delightful cottage offers a peaceful and idyllic setting less than a mile from the coast and within a short downhill walk of Hunters Inn – one of Exmoor’s most famous character Inn’s located in the picturesque Heddon Valley and offers immaculate gardens and an opportunity to enjoy good food.
One of only three attractive cottages approached by a private driveway amid the green splendour of Exmoor and close to the dramatic coastline in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Gamekeeper’s Cottage offers spacious and attractive accommodation with main facilities on the ground floor. A covered front patio leads directly into the open plan comfortable living/dining room with electric fire in feature fireplace. The well equipped kitchen has all you will need for preparing meals. A very spacious bedroom at the rear offers flexible sleeping with a kingsize and single bed and a large bathroom with bath and walk-in shower completes the ground floor facilities. The first floor is accessed by a narrow and steep, spiral staircase (low headroom). At the front a glazed door leads to a large veranda that offers amazing views along the valley and toward the sea and at the rear is a twin bedded room.
The cottage offers a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and an opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding countryside including enjoying the wonderful views down the valley. Footpaths offering truly inspiring walks along the river, over wooded valleys and towards Heddons Mouth and Woody Bay are all on your door step. The local area offers many famous beauty spots such as the twin coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, the Doone Valley, Watersmeet and Porlock Weir. Magnificent high cliffs, and hidden sand and shingle coves can be found all along the dramatic Exmoor coast whilst wide sandy surfing beaches at Woolacombe and Croyde are within an hours drive.
