About this property

Valley View - a self catering cottage that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms

This cottage ticks all the boxes; prime location, 3 good sized bedrooms, bathroom and separate shower room. There is off street car parking and a lovely mature garden. The front aspect overlooks open countryside. The interior is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, offering a perfect property for that luxury break or holiday.

Stiffkey is an ideal location to explore the delights of North Norfolk, walk from the cottage to the coastal path leading to Stiffkey Freshers, and walk on to Morston & Blakeney. Further along the coast are the huge sandy beaches at Wells & Holkham, and on to Holkham Hall with its fine parkland.

Stiffkey itself is a very picturesque coastal village, with the River Stiffkey a small chalk trout river, there are many interesting flint and tile cottages, one being the previous home of Henry Williamson author of Tarka the Otter, Stiffkey Hall, and the parish church made famous by the Rev. Harold Davidson, the Vicar of Stiffkey. There is a great village pub that serves food and is known for it's excellent lobster & crab dishes along with local mussels. There is also a pretty village shop / deli, that serves lovely coffee and cakes.

8/10 Good

Good location, comfortable and well presented.
Started with a negative - the keys were wedged in the key lock so tool some time, a phone call to the office and a lot of jiggling to get it open. Cottage is lovely, well presented and comfortable. Its location, central to the coast road, the lovely pub and stores and the salt marshes was great. There were some cleanliness issues - extensive cobwebs on the floor/ skirting areas and previous occupants belongings found on the floor (hairgrip etc) pointing to a quick floor cleaning rather than a more thorough clean. The manual was very helpful when working out some equipment. The small back courtyard garden was lovely to sit over breakfast in the morning.

Lovely cottage in a great location
Very comfortable cottage close to many beautiful places. Excellent pub 3 doors away and friendly neighbours. Had an issue with the dishwasher not working, within minutes of reporting it someone was there trying to fix it. The only minor gripes being the lack of a Nespresso type machine (there is a cafetière however) and the skirting boards were very dusty throughout the house. Would most definitely stay again though.

Fabulous
Great. Most of the week it was just Mum and myself, then my two grandchildren (5 & 6) joined us one night. All very good. Steep steps at the rear probably not suitable for pushchairs/babies. Very clean, great location, good kitchen things.

Valley View
Lovely cottage situated in a lovely little village. Very clean and with all the things you need for a comfortable week away from home. Useful to have 2 showers also with the 5 of us in the house. House is very close to a good local pub which we went to a couple of times and a great shop nearby for groceries but also homeware and gifts. I would recommend this cottage as great location close to other areas and beaches and lots of nice villages to visit. We will be back for sure!

Valley View - 3 Red Lion Cottages
Lovely cottages and well placed for numerous visits to suit most tastes. Road to the front not noisy so shouldn't put people off. Generally well equipped with empty storage cupboards for our provisions which was great. Milk in the fridge and some tea and coffee to get you started was nice. Also a pack of biscuits, however, when reading the visitors book we were envious at the welcome packs of old!! Only down side was the lack of a large fridge or an freezer. The advert is over generous as the integrated fridge (so space is lost) has a small ice-box. For self catering (we were 50/50) we found the space inadequate and ended up throwing food away mid week. the pub a couple of door away was nice and staff friendly. You'll need to book if going during busy periods. All very quiet and closing time so don't be put off! We'd recommend and stay again if we were in the area. A little pricy but it was Jubilee half term.
