Close-by is a spacious pet friendly bungalow close to the Quay - a hidden gem
Close-by is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, within a five minute walk of Blakeney Quay. It is a spacious detached bungalow and we welcombe guests to bring their pets (with an additional charge). Set in a large secure garden ideal for a small family or two couples - somewhere to relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The Quay, with its beautiful views over the marshes, tidal creeks and out to sea, is a great place to try your hand at crabbing and a good starting point for a walk along the coastal path. Take a boat trip from nearby Morston to see the seals on Blakeney Point. At Close-by you are within a short stroll of a well stocked supermarket, fishmongers, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, garage with petrol pumps, art galleries, card/gift shops, play park and tennis courts.
Regular events including Antique and Collectors Fayres and Craft Fairs take place in the Village Hall and the Blakeney Harbour Room is a wonderful venue for live music events along with a friendly bar and delicious Sunday breakfast and Sunday Roast.
Close-by has a large driveway with off-street parking for up to 3 cars - a real rarity in Blakeney! There are two garden areas, one at the front and one at the back, which is secure and south facing and ideal for children and pets. The padlocked garden shed (situated in the back garden) is ideal for those wishing to bring their bicycles on holiday.
As you enter the property there is a large hall.
The sitting/dining room has comfortable seating, freeview TV, WiFi, bluetooth soundbar, DVD player, Gazco electric inset fire, board games and books. The dining table seats up to 6.
French doors open out onto the secure back garden with garden shed, paved terrace, garden table, barbeque and washing line.
The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with electric cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A walk-in cupboard houses the water cylinder, brushes and dust pans etc.
The back door leads out to a separate "Boot Room" with hooks for coats and swimming towels; plenty of space for outdoor shoes and wellies.
Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe (housing ironing board, iron and indoor airer). Bedroom 2 has twin beds, chest of drawers and clothes hooks.
NEW for 2025 there is walk-in shower only plus washbasin and wc.
The heating is oil fired and mobile signal for Vodafone and O2 is now much improved.
Towels and linen are provided; travel cot, high chair and swimming towels are provided on request.
Please note that this a non-smoking property.
The Spar Supermarket in the village is very well equipped. There is also a Budgens in Holt and a large Tesco in Sheringham.
Blakeney and the surrounding areas have much to offer so why not discover it all from the space and comfort of Close-by.

We have been coming to Blakeney for family holidays for over 30 years. Our children loved visiting their grand parents, messing about in boats, playing in the creeks and crabbing on the quay. We still enjoy our holidays in Blakeney, visiting friends, braising walks along the coastal path and still mess about in boats!

We purchased Close-by in 2018 and really enjoyed renovating it during the summer so that our guests can experience and enjoy Blakeney as much as our family has and still does all year round.
