Great family holiday

A wonderful home right on a pretty much private beach. Aine is such a wonderful host. We were greeted with fresh fruit, cheese, scones, basil, EVO, and a smile. The home is extremely spacious for families traveling. You could easily have multiple family units traveling together. The beach is wonderful for exploring, swimming, and relaxing. There is easy access to Clifden for shopping and food. In the small town of Ballyconneely, Keoghs offers a wonderful place to dine and for your kids to let off steam. This is only 1km away, so super convenient. There is also a small market to provide all your essentials. Would be nice to have an outdoor couch or lounge chair

Beachfront Perfection

Nestled into the rocks on the edge of the Atlantic, Doleen Quay House is an absolute treasure. The home and the furnishings are gorgeous, drawing inspiration from the ocean and the shoreline. The layout of the house was well suited for our family group of six adults, with four suites situated in the outer wings, connected by sunrooms to the main living space. We enjoyed cooking and sharing meals in the kitchen and dining area. Everyone loved their light and airy private rooms decorated in natural materials and lovely coastal color palettes. The beds were amazing. But no matter how perfect the home, the real star of this show is the natural setting on a private golden sand beach overlooking the ocean, the Connemara coast, and the Twelve Pin Mountains. The water is clear, cool, and vibrant. It was so inviting that some of us took a cold plunge in the first week of April. We took trips into Clifden to visit the pubs and enjoyed good beer and Irish fare at Guys Bar and Mitchell’s Restaurant. Our visit to Ballyconneely and the Doleen Quay House was an adventure we will long remember. Highly recommended for sea, shore, luxury, good times, and the unparalleled views of the natural Irish coastal landscape.
