About this property

Welcome to our private lake house that offers all of the comforts of home and is perfectly situated to enjoy all that the Adirondacks have to offer!
A short walk down the path leads to Lake Algonquin where you can launch our kayaks, canoe, or your own watercraft.
This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cozy cottage can comfortably accommodate 6 and provides a fully equipped kitchen with a Keurig coffee maker, living area with a gas fireplace for those chilly evenings, wifi, washer & dryer, flat screen TVs in each of the bedrooms and living room, tub & shower, charcoal and gas grills.
In the summer you can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, relaxing on the private Jolie Montaigne Beach where you may even get to see our resident bald eagle.
In the fall, the views are bold and beautiful!

As the sun dips behind the mountains, relax on the covered porch while enjoying beautiful views of the lake.
Sit around the campfire at night and gaze at the star filled sky.

The full kitchen leads directly onto the screened-in porch. Kitchen Island from the dining table hand made by our neighbor, a talented woodworker. All the cooking space, utensils, cookware, and everything else you need, right there.

So nice we’ve been back twice!

This is the coziest little getaway right on Lake Algonquin. Most of our time was spent on the porch, staring at the water. When we did leave the property, we were able to go 15 minutes up the road to a variety of wonderful hiking trails. (Check out the owner’s hiking recommendations! They are fantastic!) The cabin itself is very cozy and has a full kitchen. We rarely dined out as we bought groceries nearby in the adorable village of Speculator. We stayed here in 2022 and loved it so much we flew all the way from Oregon to stay here again in 2023. We consider Piney Grove our home away from home.

Perfect weekend

Perfect for a couple or small family. The house was very clean, and the yard was great for our dog to run around a bit. We loved having the tie out so we could hook her up while we were outside. We had a wonderful weekend!

Our favorite vacation to date!

We absolutely fell in love with this VRBO. The location is private and peaceful with a gorgeous view of Lake Algonquin. We spent much of our time on the covered porch listening to the rain fall. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. We took turns enjoying the bathtub while listening to the rain on the tin roof. It was the perfect respite after the crazy year we have had. It was quite the journey to get from Central Oregon to the tiny slice of Heaven that is Wells, NY but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Amy!
