We rented the property for three of us to to enjoy a quiet relaxed break. Casa Pica-pau was perfect for us to do just that in the hills around Monchique. It is very private and secluded with the nearest other property about 70 meters up the tarmaced access track and (apparently) another a further 100 meters down the track. The property has all the facilities we required internally with a splendid high ceiling lounge and a lovely terraced garden with a pool to relax in the sunshine. The pool is not heated but that didn't bother us as we got in several times even in late March with temperatures in the twenties.Perfect, 10/10

Best relaxing Summer holidays ever

We spent a wonderful two Summer weeks in this Villa in the Monchique Mountains. Its a lovely place with wonderful forests, great views and even better restaurants. Its also quite nice that is quite central to the whole region so we did some nice trips. We surely recommed and will come back as soon as we can :) ~ John Ratzinger Snow

Property provides perfect location for a quiet getaway. It is well designed and fitted out but let down by beds that are not comfortable.

Gorgeous and quiet retreat

Lovely place, charming town. My family and I enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the use of the outside space and pool. A great stay away from the noise and chaos of big cities. Fully stocked home with thoughtful extras such as juice, milk, and snacks to get us started. One thing to note is that the pool draws a good number of insects, such as bees and wasps. If you are allergic be mindful of this. The beds are very firm, but if you are used to this it's no problem. Overall a really perfect place, even better than listing seemed to show.

Lovely peaceful holiday

We had a wonderful week at Casa Pica Pau. The location is very quiet with a stunning view to the sea. The children loved the pool, and the weather was hot but the villa remained cool through the day. Being provided with lots of towels for in doors and for the pool was a lovely bonus. The only very minor comment is it would have been helpful to have been provided with a few extra basic essentials on arrival (eg a couple of spare bin liners and a dish cloth and a little washing up liquid) just to cover us until we could go shopping. Otherwise , we seriously couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and enjoy our holiday in Portugal. Thank you so much.

Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances reposantes, au calme. Nous avons profité avec joie de la très belle vue dégagée qu'offre la maison sur l'Algarve et des joies de la piscine par forte chaleur. La maison est jolie et fonctionnelle.Deux points d'amélioration : nous aurions aimé que la piscine soit nettoyée et que la cuisine soit mieux équipée (notamment au niveau des couverts qui sont trop peu nombreux pour une famille).Ceci mis à part, nous avons passé un excellent séjour !

Parfait

La maison est située dans un lieu exceptionnel, calme, à l'écart du tourisme de masse et parfaitement conforme à l'annonce. Elle permet d'accéder aux plages de l'atlantique en 50 minutes environ (les plus belles et naturelles ) ou à la côte sud en 40 minutes (beaucoup trop urbaine mais aux criques très jolies (Benagil). Elle répond parfaitement à ceux qui recherche tranquillité, silence, nature et isolement. Les minuscules routes de montagnes bordées d'orangers, pamplemousses, citronniers sont un délice à parcourir à pieds.

Grande maison très bien équipé avec un extérieur et une vue magnifique. Piscine non sécurisé pour enfant en bas âge et jardin non grillagé pour les animaux. Séjour très agréable et reposant! Point d’amélioration: nettoyer les moisissures des fenêtres, refaire salle de bain (pommeau de douche moisie et rideau de douche). Changer les matelas beaucoup trop vieux et inconfortable (ressort).

Wunderschönes Haus mit fantastischem Ausblick

Das große und geräumige Haus (hohe Deckenhöhe, 3 große Schlafzimmer, großes Wohnzimmer, geeignet für 6 Erwachsene) hat eine wunderbare Lage am Hang mit Ausblick über die Landschaft auf das Meer (ca. 25 km). Von Monchique aus ist das Haus über eine abenteuerlich steile Straße in etwa 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Der hauseigene Pool ist sehr sauber und lädt zum Schwimmen ein. Frühstück auf der sonnigen Terrasse oder der Sonnenuntergang dort sind traumhaft schön! Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen! Monchique ist ein schönes altes Dorf mit vielen guten Lokalen und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die West- und Südküste sind durch gute Straßen relativ schnell zu erreichen, beide Küsten sind ein Traum! Wir können das Haus ohne Bedenken mit 5 Sternen bewerten.

Mooi groot huis, 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Prijs kwaliteit is goed! Alles is een Beetje gedateerd / verouderde- maar alles is aanwezig. Prachtig uitzicht en veel privacy. Auto echt noodzakelijk- 45min rijden maar het strand! / stad. We hebben genoten!

Ruhiger Ort zur Erholung an der Algarve

Wer Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sucht ist hier richtig. Das Haus liegt abseits von Monchique in den Bergen und ist nur über kleine Straßen erreichbar. Ausgestattet mit allem was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub,abseits des Massentourismus, braucht. Kann bedenkenlos weiterempfohlen werden.
