Very comfortable and recently renovated gîte integrated into a farmhouse.
The cottage is about 70 M² located in the town of Buysscheure, town of Flanders. The cottage is adjoining the owners' home, located in the heart of the village of 580 souls, in a very calm and green environment, and at the start of many hiking trails and near the marshes of St Omer. The cottage has independent access, a parking space, a private garden of 500 M² bordered by a secure pool and a terrace of about 16 M².
The cottage is equipped with a garden furniture, a barbecue, an equipped kitchen (senseo coffee maker, toaster, cookware, dishes, ceramic hob and electric oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher), 1 bedroom with 140 cm bed, 1 bedroom with 3 90 cm beds, bathroom with shower, separate toilet, living room with table and chairs for 6 people, sofa, coffee table , TV, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, electric radiator heating and wood-burning fireplace.

    Lovely relaxing gentle place to stay.

    We had a truly lovely time here. The owner was extremely welcoming and greeted us as we approached the gite, checking us in and making sure everything was OK. The gite was clean, warm and comfortable. The children loved the animals too. We visited the local 'pub' and the locals were helpful (directing us to a place to have delicious moules frites) and friendly too.

    Most definitely charming and in a beautiful location 😍

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the accommodation is very well equipped with lots of character and charm. We loved the chickens, pony, goats and peacocks. The garden was a beautiful space to rest in the evenings after days of exploring northern France. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable and beautifully finished. We didn't need to speak with the hosts but we felt their hospitality through the attention to detail in the accommodation. We were even lent a badminton net one night when playing in the garden. We would love to come back here and stay again! Thank you.

    Lovely place, helpful host and a great place to stay

    Property was very well maintained, with a nice garden to sit in and comfortable beds. No issues at all for us. Was nice and cool with doors closed, as we were there in the middle of a heatwave! Kitchen facilities good, with a dishwasher which is always a bonus. Bathroom has shower, sink, washing machine and a heated towel drier; toilet in separate room. The village is fairly quiet (cockrels and peacocks roam however, so expect some noise from them!); there's no shop as such, but a bread vending machine and it's about a 10 minute drive to one of the large hypermarkets. There are two cafe/bars - we only tried the one, food was excellent but as you'd expect a limited menu. It's a great place for walking or cycling - loads of different routes. A number of nature reserves too within a reasonable distance. Also a steam railway, run by volunteers on the weekend! Parking is off-street right in front of the property, which made loading and unloading a lot easier than many places! There's two electric vehicle chargers at the end of the road which are very cheap off-peak (11kW and priced at €0.19/20 minutes, which works out at about €0.05 per kWh) The stairs to the bedroom for three persons are a bit on the steep side, so watch with young kids and those with mobility issues. We had a person with mobility issues in our party, but after a few days they had no issues with it, just found it a bit difficult the first few times. A great place, and recommended.

    Merci aux propriétaires très accueillants pour cette semaine très agréable. Gîte bien équipé, animaux de la ferme très mignons, les enfants ne se sont pas ennuyés lorsque nous étions au gîte. Emplacement correct pour rayonner dans le département.

    Un endroit au calme à la campagne

    Un gîte agréable et en pleine campagne. La compagnie des animaux a beaucoup été apprécié par notre fils de moins de 2 ans et il y avait du matériel adapté pour lui ( chaise haute, table à langer, lit parapluie). Le gîte est aussi bien agencé et il y a tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour.

    Leuk huisje, maar er was geen bakker in de buurt of een restaurant wat open was

    Heerlijk rustig gelegen huisje. Weinig in de buurt. De eigenaar was erg vriendelijk en ik heb goed met hem kunnen communiceren, zowel voor als tijdens ons verblijf. Het huisje is wel gehorig. Dus ik hoorde wel de kinderen lachen en praten en de tv was ook duidelijk te horen toen ik op bed lag. De afzuigkap was niet schoon, maar we hebben geen gebruik gemaakt van de kookgelegenheid.

    Der erste Eindruck war nicht durchweg positiv, weil es nicht so sauber war, wie erwartet, außerdem fehlten die Handtücher, die wir vorbestellt hatten, das ließ sich aber schnell klären und mit jedem Tag, den wir dort verbracht haben, haben wir Haus und Garten mehr schätzen gelernt. Viele Räume, alle recht klein, dafür aber ein toller Garten, in dem wir jeden Abend bis in die Nacht hinein gesessen haben, auch an heißen Tagen zu empfehlen, da es immer ein schattiges Plätzchen gib. Unsere Kinder waren begeistert von den Tieren: eine anhängliche Katze, ein zutraulicher harmloser Hund, diverse Hähne und Hühner, mehrere Pfauen. Ein großes Trampolin lässt Kinderherzen höher schlagen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: im Ort gibt es an der Kirche einen Brotautomaten, der täglich bestückt wird - hier haben die Kinder gerne das Brot geholt. Der nächste Intermarche befindet sich in St. Omer (ca. 20 Minuten per Auto). Tipp: hinter der Mairie (Ortsausgang Richtung Süden) befinden sich diverse Müllcontainer.) Die Woche in Buysscheure wird uns noch lange in guter Erinnerung bleiben!

    Lovely cottage in a peaceful country setting.

    We completely enjoyed our stay, the cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Monsieur was very welcoming and hospitable. There were a couple of small issues that were resolved quickly and he always was quick to communicate. The kids absolutely loved all the animals at the property. Especially the dog, cat and peacock that would visit! Was a great location to visit a number of the World War 1 sites in the area. There are no stores overly close by but within a 20 min drive you should find everything you would need. We would highly recommend this property. Merci beaucoup!!

    Lovely place in a lovely location

    We came across for a long weekend (Fri-Mon) to visit many of WWI war graves/sites. The property was centrally located for our needs - 40 mins from Calais, 40 mins from Ypres and surrounding areas & about 90 minutes from the northern Somme area. The property was really nice, located in the small village of Buysscheure. The owner was on hand should we have needed anything but we were able to come & go as necessary. Would certainly recommend this Gite

    Idyllisch gelegen, Natur pur eben, tierisch lieblich, Gastgeberfamilie ausgesprochen freundlich :))

    Wir drei verbrachten hier WUNDERvolle Tage, keine Frage. Kaum angekommen waren wir schnurstracks aus dem Alltag genommen. Von den Tieren des Hofes niedlich begrüßt, weil alles dort sehr ländlich is‘. Es fehlte uns da fürwahr an nichts, was für die freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Gastgeber spricht. Wir nutzten - außer dem Relaxen am und im Haus und dem Wanderm auf gekennzeichneten Wegen rund ums Domizil sowie dem Baden am ein Stündchen entfernten Strand - die Lage und Gekegenheiten und flogen aus in zwei-drei Stunden entfernte Weiten. London, Paris und Brüssel (auf dem Heinweg) waren unsere Ziele und haben unseren Urlaub geprägt. Eine wirklich herrliche Mischung zwischen Abenteuer und Entspannung! Wir können hiermit unsere Empfehlung guten Gewissens aussprechen und wünschen all denen, die nach Busscheure aufbrechen, dort eine ebenso tolle Zeit. Wunderschöne Erinnerung ist, was uns bleibt ...
