We were only here for one night, but it was a nice place to stay with comfortable beds and lots of space. The entry is on the ground floor which leads immediately to stairs up to the main level. That has one bedroom, the bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and spacious living room. Another set of stairs leads up to the loft with a second bedroom. The location was convenient to accessing the city center, just outside the city walls (visible from the windows) and an easy ten minute walk to the train station.

Room for improvement.
The lack of communication with provider and check in process was poor and raised my anxiety. I paid in full weeks in advance and despite chasing the provider I was not given the details of how to access the property until ten minutes before expected time of arrival and I had to keep asking for this. (I really did believe I had been scammed, and felt sick waiting to hear from provider.) this may have tarnished my view of the accommodation, so bare that in mind if you read on; the flat needs a deep clean as there is bright green mould along the edge of the bath panel and windows need cleaning. No wardrobe, or chair/dressing table in main bedroom and in 2nd bedroom the wall mounted rail is coming off the wall so rendered useless and a mirror is propped up so hazardous getting around it. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the bedding was quality. General feel of the accommodation is lovely and the tandem on the wall is quirky. The location is good and there are some local shops nearby as well as York centre a short walk away.

Hi
I feel this is an unfair review. The check in details were sent to the guest 20minutes before check in was due. Usually check in details are sent earlier, but I have broken my ankle and my phone had died & the charger was upstairs. As soon as I’d realised I needed to send the details, I charged my phone and sent the details asap + apologised to the guest. It was an innocent mistake to make, BUT the guests did still receive their check in details on time and they were still able to check in on time.
We had also emailed each other prior to the check in date, so there was no need for the guest to feel anxious or scammed - think this is an exaggeration on their part. Also, any payments guests make get paid to VRBO direct, not the landlords, we only get paid after guests have stayed.
All our other reviews are good/positive, so I feel this guests’ review was definitely tarnished as she said herself. Also during the guests’ stay, they did not once get in touch to raise any of the issues they mentioned or say that the property wasn’t up to their standards, so I don’t feel this is a fair representation of how lovely the apartment actually is. Equally, if anybody has any issues, we would rather speak to our guests direct than to receive a nasty or unfair review after their stay, as ultimately we want all our guests to be happy!
We loved this cute apartment. So close to walk to dinner or sights with views of the York walls. We would stay here again and were sad to go. Very comfortable.

Great location
Overall good place for two couples to stay.. weatherspoons 100 meters away so ideal for breakfast and first drinks …if I had to be fussy or picky..
Looks a little shabby from outside and entrance hall could maybe do with a refresh.. but not enough to put you off ..
Lovely, well kept property within easy walking distance of York city centre and also a lovely street with cafes and bars, which were great for delicious food and quiet evening drinks.
Could have done with having the check-in info sooner. Can’t check-in until 3 but gives peace of mind knowing you know what the process is. However, the host was jock to reply when we messaged about this.
Parking is not great. The car park opposite has very tight spaces and is expensive, but the property is near the station and you don’t need a car to get around York, so it’s easy enough to arrive by train.
Overall, I would recommend a stay at this property.
