Wonderful Casa dos Cardos

Everything we needed for a nice relaxing holiday. Quiet location but near enough for town & walks. Staff at Jinny Harman really helpful & Fatima the housekeeper looked after us. Loved it, what more can we say.

Stunning view and a fantastic pool and outdoor area

A large, almost detached house with a sensational view of the beach and the sea. The outdoor area is more than spacious, with plenty of seating and lounging areas and a very well-maintained pool. The trees, which bear various citrus fruits, avocados, and figs, add to the holiday feeling. We would love to come back again! One mattress was extremely hard and at least one other was quite worn out. It would also be great if the other two bedrooms had air conditioning.

Abdolutley stunning villa, just right for a family. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The pool was such a welcome after a day out and the terraces were where we spent every evening. I would definitely recommend hiring a car if you stay here as we found the walk up to the villa a bit challenging and that was the only downside. Overall though- thoroughly recommended.

We had a great time staying at Casa dos Cardos in Luz in August. It's well-equipped in a quiet setting, with a great pool, fantastic views and not overlooked. It's situated at the end of a dirt road with a gated entrance that is shared with one other house. The walk down to the town and beach is talks about 15 minites, walking back a bit longer as its uphill. I suggest carrying a torch if walking back at night as there is no light along the dirt road. Would definitely recommend it, but be aware it has not got air-con, however being on the hill there was a nice breeze that cooled down the villa at night.

Entspannter Urlaub in ruhiger Atmosphäre

Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft mit unserer Familie sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Check-In lief reibungslos und es wurde sich in der Woche regelmäßig um den Pool, Garten und die Sauberkeit der Wohnung gekümmert. Insgesamt war die Wohnung sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein paar mehr Küchenhandtücher und ein Föhn wären wünschenswert gewesen. Da wir für portugiesische Verhältnisse nur leider schlechteres Wetter hatten und es sich um eine Sommerunterkunft handelt, war es abends doch deutlich kühler im Haus. Wir konnten uns mit dem Kamin und einem kleinen Ofen im Wohnzimmer aufwärmen.

The villa is in the perfect spot, very quiet with wonderful views out to the sea. The villa was very cosy and full of character. The gardens were lovely to walk around and were filled with grape fruit, orange and avocado trees. It was the perfect break!

A really lovely, comfortable villa

The outside space to this villa was absolutely fantastic for the six of us. It was clean, spacious and very well looked after, as was the accommodation itself. We were a little surprised however that no mention was made in the particulars of the long, uneven dirt track leading up to it, which we felt was a bit of a problem at night as there was no street lighting. However, other than that we had the most fantastic, relaxing time and would thoroughly recommend this lovely villa .

Beautiful house in excellent location

We stayed here as a family of six, the children being 9,8,4,3. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time, the house was spotless and the layout suited us, views across the sea were stunning. We enjoyed lots of time in the pool, we had it heated as despite the amazing weather the water temp was a bit chilly! The town and beach are a 15 minute walk, this wasn't suited to our younger children though so preferred to drive the short way. Overall an excellent house and location, we all had an amazing time.

Excellent family villa.

We really enjoyed everything about the villa and Luz, perfect for a family get away with younger kids who want to spend all their time in the pool. Bit of a trek down an uneven and unfinished road to walk to any shops/beach. But still, the views were great and so it was worth the walk. Love to revisit one day.

Fantastic villa with great views over to the sea, spotlessly clean, more than adequate supplies of all that is needed to cook at the villa or to have a barbecue. Even though a bit of a walk into town we managed our daily shop and a few walks to restaurant s at night. Pool was a great way to cool off during the day and was well maintained. Only down side was no air conditioning for when it got too hot during the night but all in all a great family holiday villa 😃
