About this property

Standard-Apartment-Private Bathroom

Semi- private garden to the rear of the cottages accessed via a patio door.
A stunning resort and a beautiful Grade 2 listed 18th century Manor House. Sutton Hall is set in Yorkshire, England’s largest and perhaps most historic county. Sutton Hall has been sympathetically adapted to provide eight apartments, three cottages and three barn conversions. All accommodation is self catering, with a fully fitted kitchen (all crockery, cutlery and glassware is provided) Sutton Hall is set in 24 acres of manicured grounds, with woodland, a meadow (& a lazy river) running through. We also have a small indoor swimming pool, one outdoor hot tub and an infra red sauna. All of these facilities can be booked for up to an hours private use.

We have two tennis courts which are open from April - September.

You will find Sutton Hall Resort in the quaint village of Sutton-Under-Whitestonecliffe on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, boasting heather-clad hills, picturesque villages, rugged scenery and a cosy country inn just a walk away.

Nearby, the Yorkshire Dales offer a wonderful variety of hill and river landscapes. Seaside resorts, fishing villages and rugged coastlines can be found at Scarborough, Bridlington, Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Staithes.

Historic cities such as York and spectacular ruins such a Rievaulx Abbey are within easy reach.

Situated close to Sutton Bank on the A170, the top of the bank affords panoramic views of the plain of York Stretching between the Pennines and the Hambleton Hills. There is a large car Park and a comprehensive visitor information centre.

The Historic market town of Thirsk lies 3.5 miles away from the resort. In the town there is a picturesque country racecourse with excellent facilities. Thirsk is also well known as the home of James Herriot (Alf Wight, Obe) the world’s most famous vet.

A stone's throw away is Yorkshire outdoors who offer action-packed activities such as off-road driving, quad bike trekking, clay pigeon shooting and a range of other outdoor pursuits. www.yorkshire-outdoors.com

Overnight stay to assess accommodation with 7 year old grandaughter.

The cottage was perfect for us. We were looking for somewhere to take our 7 year old grandaughter with a view to longer stays in future. An excellent stay, we look forward to returning.

Loved it.

We stayed in Danbydale and loved it. Being able to sit outside on the patio in the sunshine was a bonus. The cottage was immaculate we could not fault it. We had a walk around the grounds on a sunny morning and was very impressed with all the improvements. Very well kept, just perfect

Our favourite spot to stay

The lovely surroundings are so peaceful. Walking in the grounds through the woods and along the stream with the chance of seeing hares, squirrels and even a family of deer. All the stresses of modern life disappear. The accommodation is so comfortable and spotlessly clean. With a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna for relaxing and a tennis court and fitness suite to enjoy as well. What is not to like about Sutton Hall? Come and see for yourself. North Yorkshire really is Gods own Country.

Stunning location with excellent facilities on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors

We have been going to Sutton Hall since 2004 and it feels like a second home to us. We enjoy its wonderful grounds and facilities, the view from the sauna and hot tub is very relaxing with the stream running through the grounds in front of you. It is so convenient for a wide range of activities, the Moors and the Dales, the coast is only an hour away and large cities like York and Leeds are also within easy travelling range. Not forgetting the wonderful houses and gardens that are also nearby

CHRISTINE

I felt it was really enjoyable in a beautiful area with good weather even!

Good accommodation, peaceful, comfortable bright and spotlessly clean. Ideal for me on my own but would have been rather cramped to have more than two people there, not really enough room to have the sofa-bed opened out and nowhere for more than two people’s clothes etc.

It’s very much our favourite place to stay in North Yorkshire

Comfortable cottage and we love the terrace at the back of the cottage where the sun is all afternoon and evening in the summer. The beds are comfortable and the grounds are so lovely with the stream running through the meadow at the bottom and the woods are great to walk through.
