A little bit of heaven in a mad world
Tranquil, peaceful and exactly what we needed. The lodge had everything we needed. It was warm, homey and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need including a washer/dryer! The views were amazing over-looking the pier at Armadale and Sleat peninsula. The little local shop was very well stocked although we didnt need much when we arrived as there was milk, tea/coffee, etc already there. It was so relaxing just to get there and not run to the shops!

Highly recommended
We booked Keppoch Lodge for a family break. We did quite a bit of travelling in Skye and it was always lovely returning to our lodge to relax the rest of the evening. Short drive from the ferry port and the local shop where the lady was very helpful

Nice but disappointed
We loved the lodge and the area but we were shocked that the castle and the museum and the gardens were closed. I had specifically rung in August to discuss all of this back then and I was informed that the castle, museum and garden would be open to the public and that we were going to have discounts and free access to the facilities. Then once there they told us that everything was shut. So you can understand the dissatisfaction. It would of been different if we had been informed but were not

The Armadale estate was once part of the traditional lands of Clan Donald and the family seat of the Macdonalds of Sleat. At its heart is Armadale Castle, now a romantic ruin, which sits in a dramatic position overlooking the Sound of Sleat. The Castle is surrounded by 40 acres of magnificent gardens, with exotic planting, magnificent trees and charming walks. Also on the estate is the award-winning Museum of the Isles, which tells the story of the Highlands and ; Islands and Clan Donald.
The estate is now run by a charitable trust dedicated to promoting the history and traditions of the clan and the Highlands and Islands. Accommodation guests have unlimited free entry to the Castle, Gardens and Museum during normal opening hours throughout the season of April - October.
