Situated on the banks of the River Severn, slightly elevated to take in some of the most spectacular views, and close to beautiful historic Ironbridge, Riverside Apartments benefit from the tranquillity of rural Shropshire, yet only is a few minutes’ drive from all that Ironbridge and the Gorge has to offer.
It’s difficult to believe this picturesque town was once the centre of the industrial world, and now tourism is the most precious resource. The many museums trace Ironbridge’s history and the ’Iron Bridge’ itself is a reminder of its importance. Ironbridge has a wonderful cluster of craft and souvenir shops, some great bars and restaurants, and no less than ten museums spread along the banks of the River Severn.
For those wishing to explore beyond the beauty of Ironbridge, you can step outside the gorge and get a taste of modern hubs to medieval market towns including Bridgnorth, a picturesque historic town split in two but connected by a unique Victorian cliff railway which still runs today. Medieval Much Wenlock and Newport with its bustling high street with interesting independent shops and plenty of places to eat and drink is well worth a visit. Telford is home to family attractions including Telford Town Park and Wonderland, restaurants and the town centre. Wellington, whose market is one of the oldest in the country, is also worth a visit. Shropshire has an array of outdoor activities on offer from kayaking and canoeing to cycling, walking, gliding, golf, fishing and horse racing. The area is never short of places to visit from castles, abbeys, farms, museums and discovery centres to gardens, parks and historic houses. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.
