About this property
Luxury Accommodation nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty
This luxuriously renovated property used to be an old farmhouse owned by a local Dr, in 2019 the property was bought over and renovated to a high standard to become Ballyness Lodge. The lodge itself was built in the same town where the famous Londonderry Air (Oh Danny Boy Song) was created in 1855 and was renovated in 2019 into a beautiful luxurious property.
Ballyness Lodge is nestled at the foot of Binevenagh Mountain (an area of outstanding natural beauty) and is a 30minute drive from some of the most famous Irish tourist attractions such as The 400 year old Derry Walls, the Giant’s Causeway, Mussenden Temple, Carrick a Rede rope bridge, the dark hedges of Ballymoney and Manannan Mac Lir! A 15minute drive from the lodge will bring you to the Magilligan Ferry and for a 10 euro fee per car the ferry will transport you to the beautiful picturesque county of Donegal in a matter of minutes - here you can sample fresh seafood, cosy Irish pubs and traditional Irish music. Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Hop into your car and drive 10-30 minutes and you will find yourself at many of the locations used in the award winning TV Hit. With Derry City of Culture 20minutes away you will never bee too far from great food, great people and great history but should you wish to stay more local the town of Limavady has everything you need to enjoy a true authentic Irish stay. Shops, pubs, restaurants and luxurious spa venues this property really is at the heart of it all!

Lovely house, didn't tell us they're building a wedding venue 2 metres away
House was great. Well appointed, nice bedrooms, etc. But the photos & description said nothing about the fact their building a huge wedding venue on top of the old stables. Rather disappointed, especially as we likely wouldn't have paid such a high price with this knowledge.

Missing the small things
Beautifully designed property, well laid out in a great setting. We stayed for Xmas: 4 adults, 3 young kids. And it was a good space for us: the hot tub in particular was a great indulgence and the host had done a beautiful job putting a tree up for us. Baffled though by some of the small things that just made the stay slightly harder at times: no batteries in any of the remote controls, no toaster, no welcome file, manuals or instructions for anything, no bin bags, no general waste bin outside , no bath mats, no bins in any bathrooms. It’s a shame really because they are easy things to fix and would have made the property a delight.
This region of Northern Ireland reminded us of the south island of New Zealand - peaceful, picturesque, beautifully cared for and close to the coast and a number of other outdoor activities. The property is beautifully set back from the road and has the appearance of a classis 'Ranch'. High specification interior provides a luxurious and relaxing setting for getting away from it all. A great place for all ages.
Our stay at the lodge was just perfect. The most fantastic location, beautiful views and easy access to explore the causeway coast.
The accommodation is so beautifully presented. We had an amazing stay and would definitely return.
A marvellous house and location to explore the wonderful Causeway coast, Derry and Donegal . The house is located within 30 minutes of history, landscapes, amazing beaches and city shopping.
Excellent host and very helpful - please ask for restaurant recommendations (Michael has many!).
Must see for my teenage family were the Giants Causeway (book in adavance and for early morning to avoid crowds), the wonderful beaches where you can surf and SUP,, take the Foyle Ferry to Greencastle and the clear waters at Stroove beach, walk the historic walls of Derry or simply relax at the hou
se with a BBQ and hot tub.
We had a wonderful stay in Ballyness, fantastic house, very clean with everything you need, peaceful location and beautiful setting. Lovely place to unwind and relax.
Lots to do in the area, Benone and Downhill beach are beautiful and close by, Derry, Donegal and Portstewart are all nearby for day trips, lots of beautiful scenery and walks to enjoy in the north coast.
Without a doubt a truly amazing property with a terrific location, so close to a huge number of things to do across the North.
The property was sparkling clean with a large amount of natural space, light and airy rooms, great decor, quiet bedrooms and plenty of communal space for all our family. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary basics plus lots of additions to make our stay exceptional, and had a great table for us to enjoy for all meals. It's all the small things that make a big difference like a big washer/dryer, easy to use hob and oven, large fridge etc. Home from home.
The house had various comfortable seating areas for everyone to chill and unwind. Plenty of bathrooms, comfortable beds, lots of sofa and soft seating for watching TV, conversation and reading.
House is brilliantly located with easy access to beautiful countryside, amazing beaches and history. Plenty of shops in Dungiven and Limavady with Derry and Coleraine not far away too.
This accommodation is honestly perfect! The host was so accommodating. Any issues I had he was a text message away and remedially fixed any issues we had! Beautiful view and very spacious. Connections wasn’t always the best but everything else was breathless. Definitely would visit again. Thank you for accommodating us we had a BLAST!
Really enjoyed getting out of the city and staying on this beautiful farm. Very cozy and great for kids to have all the space to run and play. We enjoyed feeding the horse as well! Didn’t want to leave!
