Fantastic Location for Exploring Rome

We enjoyed our stay here - it was within walking distance of many popular areas in Rome and had easy access to public transportation. My daughter and I enjoyed the space and felt at home during our stay.

Perfect vacation spot in Rome

It is roomier than expected. Well stocked with the basics. Location is everything here-so easy to walk or cab to what you need. Great restaurants and active nightlife close by but also quiet inside. Very cool building and experience.

Return visit

Stayed here 16 years ago. A spacious apartment in a great area. Not much has changed in this apartment and has an old school feel. The weather for early March was blue skies and mid teens which made sitting on the roof terrace for aperitivo a treat at the end of the day. Of our 6 week European holiday, we both chose this as our no 1 stay.

Amazing location!

The location not only for access to all the sites, but also because of the great neighborhood, is fantastic. We had a minor issue with the shower draining properly, but overall the apartment was very suitable and a great value for where you are. The Gelateria outside the street doors is absolutely one of the best in the city. Also the wine bar across the street is very popular and a lot of fun at the end of the evening. The access one street up to the Main St., Vittorio Emmanuel means that catching a bus or getting to all the major sites is very accessible.

This was in a great location. Near the river and most sites are within easy walking distance. There are plenty of places to eat or drink nearby and supermarkets at each end of the street. Mirella, the host was lovely and very helpful. She even aranged for taxis to and from the airport. There's lots of info from Mirella for places to eat or see and there are loads of tourist books in a number of languages. The apartment itself was pleasant, a bit on the rustic side, but perfect for us. It has a small private terrace where you can put a couple of chairs out. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, sink, stove top kettle and toaster with sandwich holders. Crockery and cutlery are provided. The bathroom has a sink and shower (which worked ok) with adjoining toilet. The building also has a rooftop terrace with a good view. You can take food up and eat there if you wish. We would definitely stay again.

Mirella's apartment is spacious, excellent location, about 10 minute walk to St. Peter's square and Pantheon, many restaurants, shops and a great cafe just around the corner. It is a bit older unit, to be sure, but everything worked including nice hot shower, much needed each day after exploring the eternal city. Mirella is very helpful, even helped me booked an event that required an Italian phone.

This location was perfect. It is within reasonable walking distance pretty much in the center of all the major tourist hot spots and there are a ton of restaurants nearby within 2 minutes walking time. The host Mirella is very kind and responds quickly to communications and also is a huge help getting a very reasonably priced cab to and from the airport. Even during a transportation strike she was able to get me a ride back to the airport. Would definitely stay here again

Host profile image
I live in the same building as the apartment, on the third floor, and I am always delighted to assist guests with any needs they may have. If you choose to stay here, you'll feel like visiting family! I possess an extensive knowledge of my town, Rome, as my family has been living here since Julius Caesar's time. My educational background includes classical studies in history and arts, as well as a license in Political Sciences. I have previously worked as an official at the European Union Commission in Brussels, Belgium. Subsequently, I transitioned into the field of education, specializing in language teacher training. I have years of experience teaching Italian and French to students, as well as language teaching methods to other language teachers. As a host, I am thrilled to organize various activities and services for my guests, including: Language lessons: I offer Italian language classes and can also provide basic Italian cooking lessons for those interested. Guided tours: I can suggest you guided tours both within and outside Rome to see the city's historical and cultural highlights and explore the surrounding areas. Transportation services: If needed, I can arrange pick-up and drop-off services to and from airports, as well as to and from the Civitavecchia port. In addition to my language skills in French and English, I have a passion for Italian cooking and art. I would be more than happy to share my knowledge and recommendations in these areas with you during your stay.

Why they chose this property

The apartment is in the same building as my home, so I can help my guests on every eventuality. You'll feel at home and you'll live in Rome as Romans do.
My family CASSIO lives in this area since Julius Caesar's era. That's why I love and know very well my town.
One of the most valued features of the apartment is its location in the historical center of Rome: it gets you away from the tourist crowds and right into a wonderful, Italian neighborhood “Centro Storico”.
Address: Via Banchi Vecchi.
The apartment block is situated between the Vatican and Campo de’ Fiori, in the heart of historical and archaeological Rome.
The location of the apartment makes it easy to get to all the places of interest
(Piazza Navona, Castel S. Angelo, Colosseo… monuments and museums)
either by walking or by taking the convenient bus lines.
Well connected to all areas of Rome by public transportation (bus stops, taxi stands are easily accessible).
The area is very safe.
