This Trastevere Penthouse ("angelishouse" - unit B) is a top floor apartment with stunning Panoramic Roof Terrace (private).
This apartment is located in the Heart of Rome Historical centre ("trastevere" district). The lower level consists of living room with kitchen corner & sofa bed. The upper level consists of bedroom, bathroom with shower box ("travertino" marble made) and access to the stunning Panoramic Roof Terrace.
The PANORAMIC ROOF TERRACE has a WONDERFUL view on Rome rooftops (including St. Peter dome).

Comforts: WIFI, A/C, flat TV, Satellite, Radio-CD player (with bluetooth to load Your music), washing machine, PANORAMIC Roof TERRACE (equipped with wood table & chairs, recliner arm-chair, "Weber" gas BBQ, led ambient lights and lot of plants, flowers and seasonal organic spices as basil and rosmarino.

This is an apartment ideal for two people but that can also accommodate 2 adults and 1 child (on sofa bed in living room).
NOTE: in the same building, side by side, is also located the apartment Trastevere Penthouse "unit A" (listing #289229: sleeps up to 4 people). Therefore, we can also accomodate larger groups too.

This property is located quite INSIDE the "Old" Historical centre ("Trastevere" district). All the major sites are located at VERY easy walking distance.

NOTE: the upper level, cause is the located quite under the roof, has a low headroom in some areas (headroom in the upper level goes from 1.70 mt to 2.70 mt - please see photos of the interior).

Trastevere Area: the most typical Roman neighbourhood is located just over the bridge from the historical centre (and that is what the name means, over the Tevere river) became very trendy over the past twenty years, when the small streets and alleys typical from this area started hosting bars and restaurants together with some trendy shops still located in the area. The neighbourhood is the liveliest of the city and extremely crowded in the weekends. Beside shops, also very famous the Santa Maria in Trastevere church, known as one of the oldest Christian churches in Rome.

This is a "NO smoking" property (with the only exception of terrace area).

The "total rental amount" quoted on the web is also inclusive of:

TOURIST CITY TAX (!): it costs 6.00 euro per person, per night for any guests aged over 10 years old. This municipally tax is calculated only for the first 10 nights of your stay. This tax will be paid (only by cash) upon check in.

Absolutely wonderful, the Terrace is Amazing

The property was amazing and at the perfect place in the historic district. A easily walkable distance to all major sites with plenty of local charm in the neighborhood. The Host was very kind, punctual, and helpful. I recommend this place to anyone staying in Rome.

Alessio’s penthouse apartment was adorable. We were on a very quick trip but the apartment was clean and had all the amenities needed. Alessio was kind, responsive, and very accommodating. The terrace was beautiful. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. The restaurant reccomendations were great and we felt very welcome.

Brilliant location

The apartment is beautiful and comfortable with an amazing terrace. Perfect location in a quieter part of fun trastevere, but just over the river from the forum and colosseum. I would come again in a heartbeat!

This VRBO was truly one of the best accommodations I’ve ever experienced in Rome!Highlights:•The host was incredibly welcoming and even helped carry our luggage up to the unit—much appreciated since it’s a third-floor walk-up.•As someone who travels frequently, I can confidently say the bed and pillows rival (and even surpass) those of many 5-star hotels.•The terrace is absolutely stunning—imagine sipping a glass of wine with the rooftops of Rome as your backdrop.•Impeccably clean throughout.•While compact, the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need.•The shower has excellent water pressure—a rare find in European rentals.•The air conditioning works almost too well (a blessing during summer in Rome).•Generously sized towels, which is always a pleasant surprise.Only Downside:•I’m no longer staying there!Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Rome—it’s a gem

Perfect place to stay to enjoy the true Roman experience

Set in the characterful area of Trastevere, this quirky apartment is a perfect retreat from the busy city - yet close enough to walk to all the sights of Ancient Rome. Lovely terrace for quiet evenings. Small interior space and fairly limited kitchen, but nice restaurant on the doorstep. One caveat - 76 stairs to the apartment and no lift!

Absolutely PERFECT

This was our first VRBO experience and my first time in Rome. This apartment is absolutely beautiful and perfect for two people. Alessio was an amazing host, so communicative, and always available. I cannot praise this place enough - we walked everywhere during our stay and felt very safe as two twenty-something females. If you can book this place - DO IT!

Great location, fantastic terrace, brilliant Host

Apartment is compact and extremely well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Alessio is as good a host as you will ever see, cannot fault him in any way, he even carried our heavy suitcase up the flights of stairs. The Terrace is very private, and a lovely place to relax after a busy day looking at the wonderful sights of Rome. The location is in a great area of Trastevere with plenty of restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

A Perfect Place to Stay in Rome

My husband, myself and our 7-year-old son loved this property. The daybed fit our son perfectly and the rooftop deck was an incredible place to relax during our sightseeing breaks. The property is in a lovely area that allowed us to easily walk to all the major sights (we even walked back from Vatican City one day because the walking in Rome is so lovely)! Alessio was a wonderful host and his restaurant recs were great. Highly recommend!

An absolute MUST

If you are staying in Rome, you should absolutely stay here! Alessio is a wonderful host, giving you all the tips and tricks before you even arrive. The apartment is on a perfect Trastevere street, right next to a wonderful restaurant and walking distance to most of the must see sites of Rome. The apartment its self is clean, cozy and very comfortable. We ended every busy day with a drink on the terrace over looking Rome and watching the sun set. This is an absolute must! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Rome!

In every way a top notch experience

We spent a lovely week in this charming apartment. We especially enjoyed the beautiful roof terrace with Alessio's fragrant herbs and the beautiful view over the neighborhood. The apartment is centrally located in a cozy area in the quiet end of Trastevere. The small apartment is tastefully decorated, very clean and inviting in every way. All facilities worked perfectly. Alessio was a really good host, easy to communicate with, very helpful, and was available with all the information we could want.

Our most favorite VRBO

Alessio the owner was absolutely wonderful from check-in to checkout. Loved his restaurant recommendations and it was so helpful for him to arrange a cab for our early departure. The VRBO is magical and the rooftop terrace was very enjoyable. My husband is 6'4 and bonked his head a few times in the apartment but we wouldn't have changed a thing about our stay. Like the property states it is a hike up stairs to get to the apartment but we never had an issue being in good health. Grateful also for the air-conditioning and washing machine. Location is within walking distance of all the major attractions. Can't wait to be back someday.

When in Rome...

It's all been said by others so let me say something about the apartment's location. It seems a lot of visitors to Rome people like crowds, tour groups and queues. We've been to Rome a few times and seen the "must sees" so we didn't want to queue for a Tritp advisor rated gelateria or travel on a hop on hop off bus. Trastevere has a couple of streets busy with tourists showing off their Aperol Spritz but otherwise is "away from it all" and perfect for wandering among quieter parts of the city. We especially enjoyed the day trip to Tivoli for Hadrian's Villa and the gardens.

Trastevere Stay

We recently stayed at Alessio’s apartment in Trastevere while we were in a Rome for 5 nights. We could not have asked for anything better. The apartment was lovely with an amazing rooftop terrace where we were able to relax at the end of a day. The kitchen had everything we needed and we were able to cook up a couple of dinners, that we were able to eat on the terrace while enjoying the sights and sounds of the area. Alessio as a host was wonderful. He was there to meet us for check-in, helped us get our luggage up to his apartment, and showed us through the apartment while explaining everything. He was always available if we had questions. He also supplied a very thorough list of what we needed to know for the area as well as recommendations for food, alcohol, shopping etc. should we ever be back in the area we would want to stay here again! It was the best start to our Italian journey that we could have asked for.

Cozy Rooftop

From the start, our host met us at property and helped us settle in. Once settled, gave us a tour of the neighborhood and helped us get our bearings. Our host, Alessio also mentioned not to hesitate to contact him as he is readily available. He even sent messages the first few days to see if we needed anything or help with anything. The apartment itself was immaculate, clean and comfortable. It’s absolutely perfect for two people on the go. The double bed very comfortable and we slept well. The shower also has plenty of hot water and the right amount of room. The view from the roof top terrace is so relaxing and a glass of wine and a view of the Vatican dome at sunset was relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Afterwards, we walked the beautiful cobblestone streets and dined at one of the many fine restaurants in Trestavere. When we left the morning of our flight home Alissio was there to assist with our luggage as we boarded our taxi to the airport.

Small but Special

Alsessio’s property requires ‘a climb’, as it is a penthouse apartment. You walk into a small ‘living room’ with a small table table and chairs for two, and a small sofa and a refrigerator and 2 burners. (Trust me, you are unlikely to be cooking in this apartment even though it is adequately stocked.) If you aren’t willing to climb out the windows of the upstairs bedroom onto a tiled terrace (with larger table and chair and umbrella for shade) you will find this apartment ‘too small’. The outdoor terrace atop this 4 flour walk-up is what makes it so special. The local is perfect. Many shops and dining opportunities along with other recommendations from your host, Alessio. At the end of your stay youare required to take any trash downstairs and a few blocks down the street to a the street to larger ‘city bins’. I found this task odd to be asked to do as you must also climb down those 76 steps with your luggage at visit’s end. That said, the terrace is what is magical about this property and your host, Alessio, is a very responsive owner and kind, too.

76 steps to a Lovely Roman Pied à Terre.

The initial climb with luggage is a bit daunting. You are rewarded with a charming space well stocked for your stay. The patio (climb out through a window from master bedroom) is BANG! Awesome! Location is Very quiet! Close enough to Trastevere craziness but far enough for a good nights sleep. Eat at least once (or more, we ate two dinners) at restaurant just outside front door. Antonietta and her son Vincenzo are LOVELY people who want to feed you! Lots of Love in their recipes, excellent variety of dishes and sublime tiramisu! Only a small snag regarding a linen use policy using extra bed. Property owner made assumptions about people traveling together and didn’t mention an extra fee for using fold out bed. The fee is not written anywhere and was not explained when asking about extra linen. It sounded like he originally wanted €25 per night for linens (!!!), then changed it to a one time cleaning fee of €25. I’m sure, as I write this, he is amending his contract so there’s no confusion.
