About the area
York
Located in York, this vacation home is in the city center and on a river. The area's natural beauty can be seen at North York Moors National Park and Howardian Hills, while The Milton Rooms and Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum are cultural highlights. Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo and Yorkshire Lavender are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
The house is situated in a lovely area. The host was pleasant and left a useful ‘welcome basket’ and plenty of linen etc. The house was clean, however it was generally ‘dated / tired’ and cluttered; with an overgrown garden. A shame there was no way of watching live tv (particularly in the week of the Queen dying)
Upstairs has creaky floorboards and doors that drag on carpets. The beds were comfortable but the master bedroom was cramped with oversized furniture and there was no evidence of twin beds - just 2 singles and a high bunk.
The property would be more suited to a family rather than 4 mature adults as we are! (The uncomfortable sofas didn’t help!) A ‘step back in time’! We left early.
Well stocked kitchen. Host left basic groceries. Bread, milk, Orange Juice. Eggs, jam etc. Downside it was really hot and couldn’t open the bedroom window. One pane was cracked. Overall a great place to stay.
Ein kleines, aber dennoch mit 4 Schlafzimmern ausgestattetes Haus. Extrem ruhige Lage in einem kleinen Dorf. Sehr gepflegt und sauber. Hervorragende Kommunikation. Absolut zu empfehlen!
The house is in a nice small community, check in was easy and the welcome basket gave us our essentials like bread, coffee, jam etc the biscuits were very nice. We would consider staying here again if we make another trip up to this area.
Lovely area to visit, nice and quiet and lots of scenic walks
Lovely property and village, everything you needed in the house and a lovely welcoming basket. The owners were lovely and really helpful the only negative we had was you need Netflix to watch anything on tv (which we had) but needed iPad for ordinarily tv.
