About this property
Hedgehope Retreat
Hedgehope gains its namesake from one of the beautiful mountains within the cheviots, just a short journey away from where this luxury caravan is situated. Nestled within woodland that has stood for hundreds of years, this beautiful caravan offers the chance for a Northumbrian escape.
Hedgehope offers a modern spacious kitchen with a connected living room and dining area, providing you with a very sociable space. Within the kitchen, all utensils and a few extras are included, with coffee available at a click of a button, alongside an integrated fridge/freezer. For a truly comforting night in, settle in next to the electric fire with a board game of your choosing, or choose your favourite movie from the wide selection available on Disney+, with no extra charge to you! Throughout the caravan, there is ample storage from the multiple storage spaces within the kitchen, to the generous wardrobes in both bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a private en-suite, dressing area and deluxe bed linin, providing a small hideaway if needed! The second bedroom is comprised of two twin beds, which can be pushed together to form a double bed, again with deluxe bed linin, providing everyone with a comfortable night’s sleep. Within the living area, there is a sofa bed that can be transformed into a small double, if you require this during your stay, please inform us as linen and bedding can be provided upon request. A walk-in shower is built into the family bathroom, where towels are provided for your stay. To allow you to fully soak up the Northumberland countryside, a large outdoor space is also available for your use in form of our decking. On the decking, there is beautiful outdoor furniture that can accommodate up to four people.
Hedgehope is encapsulated by a small area of woodland, allowing for beautiful scenery to be seen through the patio doors to the front of the caravan and running alongside also. Through the trees to the front of the retreat, views of the Cheviots can be seen, alongside the private golf course which can be used at your leisure throughout your stay at no extra cost the course is 18 hole, par 72 and can be booked through the park reception. Also included within your stay is free access to the sports court, which can be used for tennis, 5-a-side or any other sports you can think of, a fantastic children’s adventure playground, situated next to the park’s reception and picnic tables, and of course the beautiful woods that surrounds Percy Wood holiday park. There is also a launderette on site, allowing for washing to be done easily one your longer stays.
This retreat is situated on the edge of the idyllic village of Swarland, which boasts a well-kept sports centre with multiple facilities, a large children’s playground and many walks to chose from, as well as being in an excellent location with the A1 being only a 5-minute drive away, providing easy access to other parts of Northumberland. Within your stay, we will provide advice and guidance for the best places to visit whilst in this stunning part of the UK, but if you’re wondering what there is to do in Northumberland whilst booking your stay, let us boast about our amazing county. Alnwick is a 15-minute journey up the A1 from your stay, which is the traditional county town of Northumberland, it includes the incredible Alnwick castle and gardens; which you may recognise from movies such as Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, one of Europe’s largest second-hand book stores set in a Victorian train station and Alnwick playhouse; an arts centre, theatre and cinema. If you prefer the beach to towns, Northumberland is host to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, from Alnmouth to Amble, there is a variety of beaches to chose from that you can spend all day at. For more inland activities, you have the entirety of the county to chose from for countryside activities. The observatory in our national park, Cragside in Rothbury; which hosts some of the first ever hydraulic powered machinery, Ingram valley; for picnics in the south cheviots, you will never be bored on your trip to Northumberland.
We cannot wait for you come stay with us and we will try our hardest to make sure you have the best time possible during your time away. To help us with this, upon booking we will ask some questions about your stay to make sure we provide everything possible to create the best retreat for you. We can’t wait to give you the best Northumberland retreat!

About the host
Hosted by Sarah-Louise Walden

Hello, we are Sarah and Jack! We both grew up in Northumberland and actually met at school, and have been together ever since, making it 11 years this July! Jack works in IT and Sarah is self-employed, and our favourite hobby is travelling and learning about new cultures, hence our ambition to having a space in the travel industry.
Why they chose this property
We have always loved the beauty of our county, and have spent time trying to convince people we have met through studies and work to visit the area, so thought what better way to share our county, than to own a property where people can visit and see it for themselves. We have always admired the village of Swarland for its beauty and community, so love where we are situated, and it comes with the ease of access to the rest of Northumberland!
What makes this property unique
We love our property and absolutely love spending any time we can there, mainly due to the exterior of the property. The views into the small woods to the front, makes the retreat feel so tranquil and allows insight to the nature surrounding the park, we have seen, and also multiple guests, deer grazing whilst sitting in the living room, which just was incredible. The space itself feels so homely, but modern, that we are so proud to be able to offer the experience of staying there.
