I had a lovely 4 nights stay at Penny Black Cottage.
I had a lovely 4 nights stay at Penny Black Cottage. The accommodation was clean and cosy. The bed was so comfortable that I felt ‘fully refreshed’ each morning; and the view from the bedroom window was amazing - you could see for miles! There is a lot of road noise, but it didn’t affect my â €˜holiday’ at all. I hope to return later in the year.
I love this property and its the second time I have stayed. It's a perfect getaway and only an hour away from my home. Perfectly decorated and everything you need is on hand. The view out of the back windows is perfect and there are loads of things to do and see locally. Bring extra wood and kindling for the wood burner and some blankets for a winter snuggle by the fire :)

Very well equipped cottage with modern appliances and everything you could need although strangely
Very well equipped cottage with modern appliances and everything you could need although strangely I couldn't find a rack to drain the washing up!Very comfortable although I didn't like the plastic sofa which I found cold and slippery but that's a minor gripe. The bed was a good size and amazingly comfortable. Large screen, quality TV. Lovely view from the bedroom. Nice to wake up to.The only reason I would not return would be the constant road noise. The A65 is very busy and large, fast moving traffic is passing within feet of the property. Most noticeable when in the kitchen and the bathroom. It's not going to be a problem for everyone and to be fair it never kept me awake as the bedroom is on the far side.
