Applegrove - Perfect and cosey 2 bed bungalow in the heart of Fortrose village
A little piece of heaven is located in the heart of Fortrose village in the Highlands. Although it is right in the center it is really tucked away and very private. It has off street parking for one car and a secure enclosed garden, ideal for little people. As it is all on one level it would be suitable for guests with limited mobility. The house is a 2 minute walk to the high street where you will find the shops and amenities. Fortrose is a fantastic village. The sea is on your doorstep. Five minutes walk (we walk down in our wetsuits) and you can be in the sea at the harbour or paddling your kayak off into the blue yonder. In the village just a minutes walk away from the house you have the high st. There is a co-op, a bakers, a butchers, a post office/gift shop, boots the chemist, fish and chip shop, cafes, bars and our favourite, IV10 the deli bistro that is a must eat place for all visitors. A short walk away you have Chanory Point which is a renowned place for spotting the dolphins that live in the Moray Firth. You can walk there from Applegrove. Also you have the even bigger beach at Rosemarkie and again some great little cafes for coffee and cake at the end of your walk. The house was recently fully refurbished in 2020, all new bathrooms, carpet and flooring throughout and full redecoration. The house does not have a dishwasher.

Great location- you can tour by car or just stay on foot.
We had a great time and it was so nice to be in the heart of Fortrose. The surrounding area was great, we are into beaches and there were so many to choose from, some just a short walk from the place.

Hi there Marcel
Glad you had a nice time here in Fortrose. The sun was shining and you were able to see our beautiful part of the world at its best.
The apartment was very nice and large. The beds were large and comfortable. The rooms were clean. Everything was as described in the advertisement. Check-in and check-out were straightforward. Thank you. Barbara
The property was very clean, well equipped and everything we needed was there. It was nice to have a garden as well. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms recently done up. We really enjoyed being able to just walk to Chanonry Point to watch the dolphins!

It was charming. Very efficient and quiet. Cute back yard, private.
Good base for our visiting around Inverness and Ft George. Loved the town. Would have enjoyed more uptodate furnishing of living room, but it was all ok for our brief stay. Thank you!
We enjoyed our dinner at The Anderson which was nearby, and the local Food Coop is a great place to stock up on supplies. The house is totally comfortable and the parking is no problem, you just have to back in the driveway. We could have stayed much longer, but it was great that the house was available for the days we needed.

Thank you for choosing to stay at our property. We are so glad you had a lovely time. We love it here and happy that others do too
The cottage was perfect for what we needed and safe for young children as described. Great location for the village and surrounding areas, we didn't have enough bin bags and some dirty towels were left on the back of the bathroom doors when we arrived. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it.
The house was very cold when we arrived and we have no doubt jacked up the electricity bill warming up the house. All necessary things were in place and we managed access well through the key lock box and left the keys in the same place today.
A lovely home with all you could wish for. Comfortable, clean and spacious. A great host who pointed us in the direction of the IV10 deli and they didn't dissapount! If wasn't so far away we'd definitely come back!

So delighted that you had an amazing time. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us and that you enjoyed our lovely location. Hope you return again soon.
This cottage was perfect for or visit to the Inverness area. It was spacious with parking for our car right at the door. It has a nice garden area, and was very nicely equipped for all our needs. It is within short walking distance to the local co-op store for groceries and travel items. There are walking paths down to the sea shore. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay.

Lovely village
The property is a great size and nicely set up. The village and amenities are very good. We had an issue which we related to the Host. It was dealt with promptly ... all by messaging. I would've liked to have spoken in person but was not able to. The front door lock is tricky so we just used the back door which worked well.

Hi there. I did pass on my number and ask you to call me so not sure what happened in the system with that. I think you had it as you did call me after your stay.
Our home was a cozy place to spend a few days, although we spent most of the time exploring Fortrose and nearby towns.
The house fully met our needs for rest and relaxation after full days out.
Not to be missed in Fortrose are The Anderson and IV10. The main bakery in town (across from The Anderson did amazing breakfast pies and pastries, too).
My mom, my husband and I stayed here in the middle of our 3-week trip through Scotland and this place was just what we needed. The cottage is all on one level and it's decorated beautifully. Each comfortable bedroom had a lovely ensuite. We enjoyed the picnic table in the yard and the dining room for games and meals. The kitchen was also great for us to cook breakfast, make our picnic for the day, and prepare for the next day's adventures. We recommend this holiday rental if you plan to be in the area...it's very clean, and comfortable, and your stay will be enjoyable.

Thank you Vicki for your great review and so glad you enjoyed it
The property had a great deal of privacy despite being in close quaters with other.homes. A wall and fence enclosed the outdoor space providing security and privacy. The community of the home was noticeably safe and secure. We would recommend to the owners that they update the main living room area with brighter lighting, and more modern and comfortable furniture. Given the rainy weather during our stay a nice fire in the fireplace would have been cozy, but we couldn't use it because the stack was inoperable. Both the bathrooms were upgraded, and very nice. Adding some low cost wall mounted glass shelves in each bath would be a nice functional upgrade. Using the sun porch for having breakfast and coffee was a nice way to start the day. All in all a nice property; yet with a few changes to the.living room area it could be much better.

Thank you for review. We always like to receive feedback. We want the lighting in the living room to be cosy and sorry you felt it was.too dark. Also the reason for not updating the furniture is that due to space restrictions it is hard to find modern furniture that will fit the lay out of the room. Thank you for your comments and hope you had a.lovely stay
First, we'd like to highlight the positives:* The property is in an excellent location, with convenient access to nearby cities via public transportation.* We appreciated the presence of a local co-op and bakeries, and there were many pleasant places to visit within walking distance.* The local residents were very friendly and welcoming.* Communication with the host was consistently good. However, we did encounter a few areas that could be improved:* **Cleanliness:** We found the cleanliness to be subpar. It seemed as though the most recent cleaning was done some time ago. We also noticed insect baits with multiple insects caught, and unfortunately, we encountered bugs in the rooms almost daily.* **Bedding:** The bedding could be significantly improved. The mattresses were quite old, lacked support, and were noisy.* **Furniture:** While the property was stylishly decorated, the living room furniture appeared dated. On a positive note regarding the property's amenities:* The bathrooms seemed to have been recently updated.* The kitchen was very well-equipped and convenient for dining in.Overall, despite these minor issues, our stay was enjoyable.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately the property is old and attracts wood lice and spiders and whilst we continue to try to keep on top of these it can be difficult. They are not harmful. In terms of cleanliness I am sad to hear this as we try to maintain a level that is of a good standard and I will give this feedback to our cleaners. Thanks and regards
Great relaxing spot very close to the water. In a hurry up world nice to go somewhere that time slows down. Exactly what we needed. House was great apple tree in the back yard was a big hit with the kiddo. Walk to the water and all you need. Market, bakery and bar. Loved it!
