The décor throughout Cardoness House is tasteful yet the furniture is in keeping with the beautiful large rooms. It really is the perfect property to enjoy a lovely family break in this historic market town in glorious Dumfries and Galloway.
Cardoness House is situated less than a mile from Dumfries town centre where you will find a variety of high street shops, historic buildings, restaurants and various small local shops. Dumfries is the county town of beautiful Dumfries and Galloway, which makes it the ideal place to base yourself to explore this wonderful area. As well as the high street shops, a must is a visit to Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura and the Robert Burns Mausoleum, Scotland’s most famous poet spent the last years of his life in Dumfries. Not far from the town is Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, a spectacular 1400-acre wildlife reserve which will keep you busy all day, no matter what time of year. Beautiful south west Scotland is a dream destination from historical sites and supreme mountain biking to challenging hill walks and some of the darkest skies in the world, not to mention over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches.
