Whilst the property was in a perfect location for our stay, gaining access proved extremely difficult. After four longhours we decided to head home. We were unable to contact the host and she finally contacted us as we were driving home. After being given four different codes we gained access to find a catalogue of problems as follows:-Damp towels hanging on backs of chairs in kitchen.Tray of burnt food in oven.Dishwasher unemptied. Mould in Ice maker.Opened and out of date food left in cupboards. Empty shower gel tube left in shower tray.Dirty towel left on back of door in bedroom. There was clearly an issue with the cleaning of this property and communication.
Family weekend in Marlborough in this spacious beautiful renovated Coaching Inn. Enough room for six adults of varying ages. Dawn (the owner) was present when we checked in. She kindly showed us around the property which made the start of the weekend very easy. She also supplied several items of necessities, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Dawn.
Just come back from a lovely weekend away with some friends. The house is deceptively spacious, located down a quaint alleyway in the centre of Marlborough. The house is well equipped and beautifully furnished. We had a mooch around the shops before heading out on a long walk round Savernake Forest which is walking distance from the house. We enjoyed dinner at Tipi Tapa (tapas) and Sunday lunch at the Red Lion at historic Avebury, which is 10 mins drive away. Thanks to our host Dawn for the good communication!
What a wonderful property in the perfect location to explore Marlborough.
Girls weekend away due to cancelled trip abroad. Such a lovely welcome, fizz & strawberries for us to enjoy and a fabulous basket of goodies too.
Conveniently Waitrose is just around the corner, but these bits were much appreciated.
The house was very clean and well presented. We all had a great time and it was exactly what we needed.
Our car was parked safely close by, but we didn’t need it as we spent the whole weekend in town.
Highly recommend - fabulous property.
Great stay in Alma Place - the house is lovely and really cosy, with everything we wanted. It’s just off the main high street, which is great for a morning hop to Cafe Nero or Waitrose! Quite a quirky layout but worked well for us and our kids, would definitely recommend.

Friends weekend away
After arriving just after check in time we weren't able to access the property for an hour as the owner was still cleaning and looked very hassled, it felt very awkward. All in all we had a nice weekend and enjoyed the house and local area.
Alma House looks charming. It is situated in a quiet location just off the main square. There is one parking place, additional parking in paying car parks close by. Check-in was straightforward. Our host contacted us to check that we were happy with the property on arrival. The internal decor was in very good condition. The property feels spacious. The kitchen was well-equipped, but Marlborough has multiple places to eat if it would be preferable to eat out. There is a Waitrose a few doors away! We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you to our host.
We had a great family weekend here. The home was extremely well positioned, just off the High Street, so convenient for shopping and restaurants. It is located down a narrow lane, at the end of which is a parking bay for one car. We found everything we needed for 5, cooking and eating in the house, as well as in local restaurants. The eat-in kitchen was the center for us, though we all enjoyed time together in the living room, which has plenty of soft seating. Access to streaming service and a low table for board games (we brought) was just what we needed to make the weekend convivial. Only minus was that both loos are up a flight of steep stairs, which was challenging for the oldest member of our party. A great stay! Thank you.
This very spacious historical Coach House had much character and was nicely appointed; a very comfortable place to stay.
My daughter, son-in-law, grandson, wife and I were visiting the area to attend a wedding. The house checked off all the boxes and was as described. We stayed for three nights.
The place was very clean and well presented. Dawn left biscuits/cookies, crisps, milk, tea, coffee and a great kitchen ready to use. This was very welcoming. Very good size living and dining rooms.
The location is situation just off High Street so it made easy access to stores and restaurants. The house however overlooks the Green Dragon outdoor pub area. Needless to say there was pub noise in the evening.
When we booked we were not aware that two weekends every October Marlborough holds their annual Mops festival and closes High Street to traffic and sets up amusement rides and stalls. Alternative paid parking must be used at the Kinney Place public car park, 7 pounds/day. Not really too far but an inconvenience when having to tote luggage and a baby.
There are two bathrooms- a small ensuite with shower in one room; a large shower room and a separate bathroom for the other three rooms. No bathtubs. All very clean.
The wifi was basically nonexistent unless in the kitchen. Dawn informed me after contacting her that the kitchen lights must be turned on for the modem to work.
Staying at the Coach House was memorable!
BTW, great breakfasts at both Krumbz and Bunce’s.
We went to Marlborough for our annual get together . The property was very spacious and beautifully presented , very clean with lots of lovely touches we hope to go back next year .
