Two Brickground Large Victorian Cottage With Beautiful Garden
Two Brickground was originally two of a terrace of four brick makers cottages - where many of the bricks in the local villages were produced. The four cottages were converted to create two large semi detached cottages. We are 100 yards from the River Ant - where the bricks were transported by barge to the rest of the county. The cottage has a very large Lounge/ Dining room with a gorgeous woodburner, a separate kitchen/breakfast room, 5 bedrooms (one downstairs) and 3 bathrooms (one en-suite and one downstairs). The best feature of the cottage though is the outside space. There is a very large patio with furniture and a barbecue plus around half an acre of garden - surrounded by farmland. Plenty of space for family get togethers!

We were a group of 8 and stayed 6 nights here, the house is absolutely beautiful with loads of space for everyone. It has a great family kitchen, and a huge living area with a table big enough for 10.
Only slight criticism would be the double beds' matresses are in need of replacement and a wifi booster is needed to get a signal upstairs.
Still awarded full marks though, we had a wonderful stay.
Fantastic property. Lots of space for all to be together without being under each others feet. Comfortable and well equipped. Lots to do in surrounding area
The property is lovely and in a quiet village. Although the weather wasn’t altogether on our side having this house to stay in was fantastic. It has everything you can ask for and everyone loved the welcome basket. The kids loved the trolley to transfer everything to the table and the living space. The local playground was within walking distance was also used by the kids of course a pint was required for the adults at the cross keys who also do lovely food.
Pleased with the property, had a lovely break away. Little mishap with checking in - didn’t receive any details online, wrongly assumed somebody would meet us there but had to make quite a few calls to try sort the information to access the property. Not ideal after 4.5hour travel with two little ones but all sorted after 45 mins, no major dramas.
Property clean and tidy, nice welcome pack, lovely and quiet area.
We were looking forward to our first holiday as a Family of 5 Big People and 5 Little People (ages 3-9).
The cottage is lovely, with a homely feel; the garden large for the little ones to play in (but WARNING, there's a beehive in the ground and one of the children was stung); great to have a gas BBQ for one of our evenings; dishwasher a blessing; good size kitchen, with ample worksurface and cupboard storage space.
Areas for improvement: one partly used and one spare toilet roll in each toilet - clearly insufficient for 10 Guests; hand soaps in dispensers appear to have been heavily diluted so spurted out onto clothing and inadequate for the intended task; very small pedal bin in kitchen inadequate and only 1 bin liner and 1 black refuse sack provided; three dishwasher tablets provided inadequate for the length of stay; no breadboard and one tiny chopping board; no mirror or dressing table facility in some bedrooms - a basic requirement, and even a shelf in those instances would have been helpful; mattresses very soft, and sagged in the middle – we’re not large people – not good for backs; Broadband intermittent in kitchen and bedrooms.
Also a shoe rack and coat hooks in entrance hall would have been really helpful.
The vrbo system needs attention as it sent email erroneously about payment required, even though payments had been made within the requisite time. This necessitated time being spent in researching what had happened and emails to the Agent. Michelle sought to
The cottage/house suited us very well with its spacious rooms, 2 patios and large garden. The tea trolley was a great hit with the children and we had to have a rota for setting and clearing the table so everyone got a turn to push it! We would have liked a welcome book and some information about the area. The leaflets were out of date. There were no instructions about recycling and rubbish disposal. Extra cutlery would have been good too. However, the welcome basket was an unexpected treat and I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage to any large family group with ages ranging from 3 - 75!
Staying here was an absolute joy!
From the minute we drove in and saw the gorgeous brickwork, courtyard and garden we were so excited to take the kids inside so they could choose a room in their "holiday home"
The spacious rooms were considerately furnished, towels were fluffy and white and soft throws on the bed
The kitchen was well equipped and the coffee capsules and welcome hamper were a considerate and thoughtful gesture from our hosts
The barbeque and garden tables and chairs were clean and modern, the spaces well maintained and homely without being cluttered.
The kids enjoy using the trolley to transport breakfast bits from the kitchen to the comfy lounge diner where the sofas were plentiful and the table sat all 10 of us comfortably.
The master bedroom had an ensuite and travel cots in the cupboard and the kids were delighted to have a tv in each room
This house gave us the perfect base to return to after busy days out and we would highly recommend you book this wonderful accommodation
