The house was amazing, a home from home. It had everything you could need and more. Fabulous view of the river, boats and paddle steamer from the balcony. There's a 5-10 min walk to the shop and small cafe also The Swan Pub, 2 other pubs just few mins further down. Best to book though. Food amazing! Hired boats from Herbert Woods, Potter Heigham, the Seals at Horsey Gap is a must! Not forgetting The Radar Museum, Defford, visit to Wroxham & Norwich Cathedral.
The accommodation was amazing, so clean, tidy and spacious, we all loved our holiday there. The accommodation was equipped with everything we needed. A big thank you to the owners.
Just back from a wonderful week staying at this amazing house, everything in the house you could possibly need and the views are fantastic from both balconies, loved the upside down lay out of the house, fantastic communication from Claire the owner and a lovely touch with a gift of cava and chocolates. Highly recommend and would love to come back!
We were very impressed with this holiday home which benefits from a beautiful view along the river Bure. Upstairs the living accommodation is spacious, light and very well equipped. Downstairs the bedrooms are comfortably furnished. Overall this home met all our needs.
Despite the unusually cool weather for early June (12 degrees for some days) we very much enjoyed our 5th visit to South Wood in Horning
We found the house clean and well equipped (as previously) and ideally located for trips to our favourite places in the area.
We look forward to (hopefully) making our 6th visit to South Wood next year.
The house was beautiful as advertised. Very comfortable and amazing balconies to sit and enjoy view from both sides of the property. The house was easy to find and the check in and out process very easy too. Very near the village and a great base to explore Norfolk. The Bure restaurant and Galley Deli in the village both deserve a special mention as they were excellent. Bure for dinner and Galley for breakfast and lunch and its gift shop too. All in all I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the area.
Waterside House was situated in a lovely part of Horning overlooking the broad. The house was spotless, and every attention to detail had been paid. Communication with the owner was excellent. Having stayed in many rentals through the years, Waterside has to be one of the best we have stayed in.
The property is beautiful in a fabulous location. There is everything you need for a relaxing stay. Amazing views from every window. Close to local amenities. Lovely host who was quick to reply to any questions. We are already planning our next visit.
We had a wonderful week at Claire's property, the two balcony's were very much used by all, especially in the early morning so tranquil and relaxing. My grandson could not beleive his luck with the piano, for some practice. A good time was had by all three generations
Two retired couples staying for a week in a lovely, clean & comfortable open plan accommodation. Enjoying the river & countryside views. The Missippi one & a half hour cruise is highly recommended. We appreciated the wine & chocolate welcome pack gesture. We highly recommend this property.
We have stayed at this property many times now and it never disappoints us. It is in a geat position with fabulous views over the River Bure and Horning Sailing Club. We will be returning next year.
We both thought that South Wood is absolute perfect house and location for a relaxing holiday, every thing is included for self catering or if you want to eat out there are several restaurants/pubs near by. The house was absolutely perfectly clean and tidy and it made us feel as if we were at home.We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year. Thank you Claire and Jon.,
My Dad and I returned for another wonderful stay in this beautiful holiday home, it really has stolen our hearts. The location is a dream, the perfect balance of peace and privacy down the end of a private road, yet near enough and angled perfectly to view the hustle and bustle of Horning life. We were unexpectedly spoilt on our first weekend with the perfect view of the Three Rivers Race start. The property is very well equipped and always smells so good on arrival. Booking was smooth and simple with a very generous and comforting cancellation policy if needed. Claire is always very pleasant to communicate with. We are already looking forward to next year's stay!
Beautiful holiday home in gorgeous surroundings. The property was fully equipped with everything we needed for a pwrfect week away. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balconies in the evening and watching the world go by.
We had a great week, the place was exactly like it looked on the website, fabulous views from both balconies. Really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty to do and see within 30-40 mins travel, and we found 2 x National Trust properties to visit with our cards. Very well equipped property. Lovely beds, and very clean. Liked the jigsaws that we found there so much we bought one from Wroxham to do at home!
Spacious, with good upside down living, that maximises views from windows and the two balconies. Easy walk to village store and excellent seafood restaurant, and good pub food.
Lovely cottage in an excellent location with shops and eateries just a short walk away. The cottage has all the comforts of home, splendid views and was warm and cosy. What more could you want?

About the host
Hosted by Claire Poynton
We first came to the Broads 30 years ago - originally to visit family -and loved it so much we bought a holiday home here. Over the years family and friends have all enjoyed staying here and in 2015 we decided to share our home with others. From the reviews our guests have left us, and the number of returning guests we have, we feel it is loved as much by all who visit. Claire and Jon
Why they chose this property
We are not party animals, we like the peace and quiet of the location of our property but also that we can walk to the village with its pubs and shops. We also like the fact that there is so much to do in the area. We enjoy boating, fishing, cycling - nice and flat! and bike hire 5 minutes away. There are lovely walks locally, some beautiful beaches only a 20 minute drive away, and Norwich with its shops, cathedral and cobbled streets 30 minutes away. But most of all its just a wonderful place to relax!
What makes this property unique
We love its location - tucked away down a private drive but still next to the water. It really is a great place to unwind.
