Shabby elegance, hosts unprepared and unresponsive
This property has wonderful bones, the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated and comfortable. It is a wonderful location for exploring the nearby glens, the Black Isle and beyond. But the hosts/owners did not prepare us or the facilities for our visit... we had to reach out to learn how to get directions which were Snap-chatted to us, and to locate the key. The heating was not on and took several hours to come up to temperature, and there was a slight rising damp. For a while there was a question whether we would need to go to the Co-op in Beauly to top up the electrical credits ourselves, but that was resolved somehow without our involvement. While things were clean on the surface, there were cobwebs, a snail climbing the wall and the downstair toilet was not clean. The website indicated there was a clothes dryer, and there was no evidence that there had ever been a dryer in the property. The website indicated there was wi-fi, but that had not been checked by the hosts in advance and we had no internet access for the week. We asked them to compensate us for establishing wifi hot spots via phone, which was a cost to us of about 10 pounds per day, but to date have had no response. That was the most important factor in the low rating. I am sorry to report this, as the home has great potential and the other owners of the connected homes in residence were friendly and taking great care of their grounds and gardens. In contrast, our portion of the steading was untended. We really wanted this to work out to mutual satisfaction; sadly this was not the case here. Belladrum
We had a fantastic week here. The location was wonderful for walking, biking and exploring Inverness. The property was comfortable but in need of some tender love and care. This was what we expected from the advertising so it wasn’t a surprise. The house had a lovely feel about it.

DO NOT STAY HERE
In view of the rental fee that is imposed, unfortunately the property does not live up to expectations. There are far more properties within this price range which offer superior accommodation and amenities The impression given is to maximise profitability with very little inpur, care and attention to the accommodation provided. No hot water for 4 days!! No heating on arrival – contacted Owner via email and text -no response Initially Owner unresponsive to texts & voicemails. Told by Owner re hot water: 'it was fine last week' inferring this problem was our fault. Electrician finally called and arrived Wednesday night. The switch for the hot water had 'welded' itself inside. Still awaiting apologies from Owner of their inference. No heating, as oil tank empty. Owner states this will be filled on Monday, waited until Thursday night for it to be filled. Had to wait until Friday morning for hot water to heat up after Electrician fixed the switch and for heating to work We vacated early hours of Saturday morning. Mould in hanging space of Wardrobe Photos do not show the property in its present state, Rips in yellow standalone chair with nasty black marks on headrest, Broken facia of plug sockets in lounge- dangerous Nasty stains on carpet in living room Picture showing outside seating area has one very small child's seat – no outside seating at all for adults No instruction manual in property of how to use items Fire blanket hanging out of sterile holder, dirty. Not fit for purpose Fire extinguisher in the kitchen should be tested annually and a sticker stating this. No sticker … has it been tested?? One broken smoke alarm in the whole house Top grill broken door Heating doesn't work due to lack of oil 3 saucepans – 2 lids Lurpak (part of the 'welcome pack') had been used by someone else, in times of COVID??? Windows filthy 1 hand towel between 2 people 1 tea towel for the whole week No oven gloves 4 slice Toaster only 2 functional Dirty black marks on ceilings in kitchen bedroom and lounge Holes in kitchen ceiling where light fitting had been changed, to smaller than original fitting Outside of French doors hardboard curling up and bending up Sofas springs so damaged hurts your back to sit on them Large gouges out of work top Nasty cracks in several cups White with red trip chopping board is so badly distorted/buckled would never use. Iron sole plate black with burns Curtains do not fit properly and are dirty No Corkscrew
