About this property

New Lane Cottage is our quaint Grade II listed thatched cottage located on the edge of the Worstead Estate. The cottage lies at the end of a wood-lined drive, in a tucked-away position offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day. The cottage is within easy walking distance of Worstead Park, where guests can enjoy a beautiful lake and woodland walks.

Accommodation is for 2-4 people in two bedrooms, with cosy living space, period features and a log-burner for those wintery evenings. On the ground floor you'll find a breakfast/dining room, kitchen, living room and bathroom, whilst upstairs are two inviting bedrooms. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay, including linen, towels, Wifi and logs for the wood burner should the weather be a little cooler.

Outside is a patio with dining furniture and a gas BBQ. Dogs are welcome.

Please note that due to the narrow steep staircase we do not recommend this cottage for those with mobility concerns, or with children.

Over priced renovated thatched cottage

Beautiful setting. However lights and humming from the potato factory nearby were very noticeable at night. Well equipped kitchen.The cottage is not suitable for 4 adults. The refrigerator was far too small. The position of the bathroom off the kitchen was not ideal, and a long way from the bedrooms . The stairs to the bedrooms were quite dangerous and very awkward to negotiate for anyone but particularly when moving luggage, or for people with mobility issues. The addition of fans in the bedrooms would provide more comfort on warm summer nights.very comfortable beds and good quality linen

A fantastic stay!

A beautiful setting, cottage and stay. Celebrated my 40th birthday here, and I would highly recommend it. The cottage is beautifully furnished with everything you need. I will definitely book again!

Picture perfect christmas getaway!

The cottage is beautiful and seeing it at the bottom of the lane as you drive in is truly magical, it feels like the film 'The Holiday'! We stayed for 5 nights and there is plenty to do in the local area, although we spent most of the time enjoying the fire or the hot tub. The Suffield Arms and The Recruiting Sergeant are well worth visiting, the circular work past The Woodyard and through Worstead is great. The cottage is spotless, and tastefully decorated. Do not be put off by the stairs, as long as you are able they are perfectly doable and add some lovely character to the property. Thank you to Charlotte for assisting us promptly with all our queries. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Superb Cosy Chocolate Box Cottage

This is our second trip to New Lane Cottage after we found this little gem by accident in 2022. The cottage is super cosy, has lots of original features and is extremely well equipped. The cottage is a great location for Norwich and various coastal points if you can drag yourself away from the the wood burning stove and snug lounge. Set on the Worstead Estate you can take in some lovely walks and spot local deer .. although they are quite keen to wander around the cottage grounds too. Booking arrangements are very easy and the property team are extremely helpful and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!

The “Hobbit” cottage

A picturesque cottage tucked away behind the woods. It had all the comforts we needed and with the log fire was warm and cosy. Well worth another visit.
