Athena's Hideaway

Athena’s Hideaway is a charming 2 bed ground floor apartment. It’s located in a luxury housing community, marked by high quality amenities and a stunning sea facing location. There is a large communal swimming pool in the complex which consists of three inter-linked round pools (two full depth and one for children) along with a small separate pool for toddlers/babies. This is a sociable area to strike up conversation and make new friends. The apartment has 2 bedrooms with a double Queen Bed in the master bedroom and a bespoke Queen and double bunk bed in the second bedroom. Both rooms have large fitted wardrobes and all bedrooms and living areas have both air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep you cool. The property has a large wrap around veranda that’s set high and sheltered by plants to provide privacy for guests whilst overlooking the sociable communal pool. There is dining for 6 guests for plus a lounge area for additional relaxing. It’s a short walk from the picturesque coastal village of Panormo, famous for its quintessential narrow streets, fresh local cuisine and idyllic shops. The proximity to the village, local beaches and Rethymno, as well as, the beautiful decor and complementary amenities set Athena’s Hideaway apart to make for a perfect vacation holiday.

Excellent spacious apartment and great pool

The apartment is absolutely perfect for a family with 3 children/teens and has all you need to spend a fantastic family holiday. The pool is great due to its division in several parts and allows for playing games in one part of the pool without disturbing other guests in other parts of the pool. The beaches within walking distance are okay but we found nicer beaches further away which was fine as we had a rental car.

Schöne Ferienwohnung, top ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Auch der Pool in der Anlage ist super und ganz in der Nähe gibt es eine kleine Badebucht die man fast für sich alleine hat (auch nett zum schnorcheln). Am Rand von Panormos gelegen, aber zu Fuß ist das Zentrum in gut 10 Minuten zu erreichen.

Hi - We're Tom and Despina. We have two children and live in London, United Kingdom. We purchased Athena’s Hideaway having rented and stayed at the Panorama Seafront Homes II on numerous previous occasions following an introduction by a friend. The development is perfect for children and adults to relax, with beautiful settings with a large 3 circle communal pool and baby pool. There is a great mix of people from Europe and beyond including the UK, Netherlands, Isreal, Norway and Greece.
The nearby traditional fishing village of Panormo is tranquil with friendly people, numerous local and higher end restaurants serving a wide variety of food, including fresh fish, traditional Cretan dishes, and modern twists on local recipes. There are also bars and if lucky live impromptu music.

There are also varies, stores, pharmacy and supermarkets catering for everything needed for a stay in Crete. Located in the middle north of the island, close to Rethymno, it is the perfect location to explore the island of Crete.
