Beautiful 3 Bed, 2 bath detached Villa, private pool sea view, near beach.

Villa Athena is a beautiful 3 bed detached Villa, with a private heated swimming pool set in private grounds with stunning sea views. Close to beaches and a short stroll the local village with all amenities.

The Villa is tastefully furnished, with a large open plan, double height kitchen, living and dining room area. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms are located away from the open plan lounge/kitchen area, which affords privacy for guests who wish to lie in and for those who prefer to watch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets without fear of disturbing others. There’s a designated covered car parking space also.

There are three bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. Two bedrooms have a King or Queen size double bed. The third bedroom is furnished with two single beds that can also be arranged and fixed as an extra large Superior King double bed. All bedrooms also have mirrored dressing tables, for convenience.

The accommodation offers all modern comforts, including air conditioning throughout, WiFi, flat-screen smart TV; Xbox. There is a desk situated in the lounge also.There is ample tableware and kitchen utensils to easily accommodate 8 guests comfortably. In the milder months there is the option of underfloor heating throughout.

There is a 6 seat indoor kitchen table plus a large 8 seater dining table on the veranda overlooking the sea and pool, and a further 6 seat dining table by the outdoor barbecue, which is perfect for alfresco dining, followed by a refreshing dip in the pool

There are various seated lounge areas in the garden and verandas situated just outside each bedroom, which provide private or sociable time for guests. Each bedroom has access to a veranda with seating to enjoy the sea or pool views.

The private pool is situated to take advantage of the beautiful sea views and the glorious sunsets. The large alfresco dining table underneath the covered bamboo veranda sits adjacent to it, alongside a comfy outdoor lounge seating, perfectly suited for drinks and an alfresco lunch or dinner before or after a swim.
The large wrap-around garden area also has a built in charcoal bbq, and further seated dining to enjoy your barbecued meal. With ample sun loungers situated around the private pool for sun worshipiers.
The private pool uses a salt water chlorination system and is heated for guests which prefer to travel during the mild weather season in Crete, where the sun still shines but may not be warm enough to heat the pool by itself.

There is also a large communal swimming pool in the complex which consists of three inter-linked round pools (two full depth and one for children) along with a small separate pool for toddlers/babies. This is a more sociable area to strike up conversation and make new friends, whilst the private pool and detached Villa provides privacy.

A lovely family Villa from which to enjoy the beauty of the traditional fishing village of Panormos and to explore Crete.

We had a truly lovely time in Villa Athena. It is a well equipped and very family friendly villa. The beds were comfy and lots of sitting and lounging areas inside and out. The pool was lovely and we loved the very local pebble beach just a few minutes walk away. The beeches in Panormos were nice too but snorkeling in the crystal clear waters at the pebble beach were a highlight. The lovely food at the local restaurants and the cocktails (and mocktails) in panormos were also fab. Thank you for a lovely place to stay! We would recommend the villa and also this area of Crete for a fun and relaxing stay.

Wonderful villa, seaview as promised in the cute village of Panormo, very close to Rethimno. The villa is well equipped and highly maintained - perfect for family stay. The private pool is great and so are the complex ones. The owners are wonderful and do all to make the vacation perfect. We highly recommend!

Beautiful Panormo Villa

This was our 3rd visit to Panormo and the lovely Seafront 2 properties, We treated ourselves to a stay at Villa Athena and were not disappointed. Easy communications with owners and quick replies to any questions we had, even supplied some milk, water and a lovely bottle of wine. Would highly recommend, location is an easy 20 min walk to Panormo, where there are restaurants galore, supermarkets and bakery, its centrally located for exploring Crete.

The property was everything we expected if not even better. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to cook meals for 8 people. The pool area within the property was also great, the pool was looked after daily by the property staff. The best thing avout the property was the AC which saved us on our trip. Every room had air conditioning so we couls sleep well at night

Roomy home with private and community pools and gorgeous sea view very close to seaside. Large seating area around pool with grill. Kitchen with everything we needed to grill the evening we stayed in for dinner. Short easy walk from city center. Beds are quite firm which we adjusted to after the first night. Communication from host ahead of time was good with excellent directions.

We Love Panormos!

The villa was beautiful and perfect for our family of 7! It is very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Thank you for sharing it with us! Panormos is a wonderful little village. As your neighbor told us "You picked the best village in all of Crete". The people are so friendly & welcoming & really made us feel part of the community. It has a very relaxed feeling & was the perfect base for our daily adventures. And the food in the local tavernas-Amazing! We fell in love with Crete and can't wait to return!

This home is beautifully decorated, well looked after and an excellent place to relax. The shared pool is a welcome addition especially in the afternoon where you can cool down. The complex is very quiet and its a 10 minute stroll into the village. There are several small beaches close by where you can hire sun beds and umbrellas. The village has a few small supermarkets, bakery, butchers and local bars and restaurants. There are tours of the island available from several operators in the village too so it is possible to stay without a car. We had a very relaxing holiday and will definitely go back again.

The property was to a very high standard, beautifully decorated and a great location. The villa was incredibly clean and well maintained, the gardens were beautiful and all outdoor seating areas were fabulous. I cannot fault our stay at all, it very much felt home from home. I would recommend this villa to all my friends and family, we are desperate to go and stay again. There was so much to do in the area, we walked into the local village every day where we had fabulous food and drinks. We hired quad bikes and did a safari through the mountains on them. We hired a car and explored a large part of the Island, doing our own excursions meant that we weren't tied to any trips. Driving was very easy out there, we had no issues at all. We had one of the best holidays to date, cant rave about it enough.

Completely surpassed our expectations, couldn’t fault the villa, outstanding with the most beautiful sunsets from the rear, adding the private pool has been a master stroke especially for families with young children. We were 2 families sharing so having the bunk beds in the children’s bedroom was a master stroke. The villa had the feel of 2 different villas with access to rear and front balconies. Loved panormos too, had nice quiet relaxed feel which was an added bonus on a large island, felt like we were on a smaller island. Tom couldn’t have been more helpful giving advice on places to go, nearest supermarkets etc. Would visit again in a heartbeat! Only 2 points of feedback 1) an outside light near the bbq would have been fab for those later evening cooks and 2) a table tennis table to left rear of property would have kept my 3 nephews entertained for a bit longer however these are very minor points and probably particular to us, the holiday was fantastic and was precisely what we were looking for, thanks again

Everything you could need and great location

First time staying in panormo and at Tom’s villa and it was fabulous. We were 3adults and 2 children - plenty of space, enough plates, cups etc and had plastic for the kids! Games like uno and battleship were an unexpected surprise and we now have an 8yr old card shark in the making! The best touch most definitely is the nespresso machine - thank you although the cafe posto do a mean frappe! There was a tiny little pebble beach just down the road which was like having our private little cove and the pool which we visited every day and the surrounding area was kept clean and tidy. The village was lovely, we walked to the bakery every morning for bread, everyone so friendly and Maki’s was most definitely the best restaurant. The supermarket closest to the villa is great for Convenience but generally shops were cheaper in the village. The only thing missing were mosquito guards on the bathroom windows as you couldnt leave them open. Beware the sprinklers in the garden come on just before 5pm if you’re out sunbathing 😂 There is a large all inclusive hotel down the road which you don’t hear at all but it’s great because it means there are generally taxis close by if and when you need them.

June time is so peaceful

Firstly what a super host/ owner. The details about the are exactly what you get. You get a good sea view with stunning sunsets. It’s decor is modern/ ikea style and everything worked. Aircon everywhere you need them. Great bonus are the electric shutters that help keep the villa cooler if you choose to. Equally there are fixed insect screens, not that that was an issue. Plenty of outdoor table seating, various sun beds plus comfy patio furniture of Sofa and chairs. Pool is maintained to a high standard and both the patio and pool was cleaned 3or 4 times in our two weeks there. Tv great- we linked up our iPad and watched a couple of movies. Locally there is a small shop and outdoor restaurant 2mins away. The little town is 15 min stroll with mainly 2 streets of mixed shops and plenty of restaurants that are fine. Tom will give you recommendations if you ask. We visited a couple and they were really good. There is a small shelf in the kitchen with batteries, sun creams and pain killers that people leave. People before had left oils, tins of food, tbags etc for the next person to use so might be worth looking before you go shopping especially for oil! We did eventually find extra bedding in a cupboard in one of the double rooms and some towels. There are no towels apart from the one we bought and left. Few bits under kitchen sink eg washing up Liquid and bin bags but just what has been left. There were toilet rolls but not sure if supplied or left there. Panormos is small and piece full. Rethymno- gorgeous town, is about 25 min drive but there are buses.

Very nice place, with good, well designed and decorated space and nice pool: the neighbourhood is still being built, but that isn’t visible from the property which looks down to the sea . Easy walking distance to lots of nice local restaurants.

The village is just beautiful with a very traditional feel. Great family run restaurants and bars with a very friendly touch. Amazing holiday would love to go back!

Everything about our stay went smoothly. Tom & Despina's indications were perfectly clear, we found the house cool, spotless and welcoming with the lovely touch of a bowl of fresh fruit. The house is very well designed for sharing with in effect separate night quarters for a family - a double room and the 4 single bed dormitory sharing a bathroom - separated from the other double bedroom and shower room and rest of the house by a door (great for siestas or different wake up times!). There are also several comfortable, entirely separate furnished outside spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped - we cooked every day and were never missing a utensil or dish. The house 'turns its back' on the shared pools (but is only a few footsteps away from them), which gives it an appreciable feeling of privacy. From the main garden patio, you can just about see one set of neighbours and they you, but barely. The main feeling is one of luxurious privacy! The sea views are stunning and restful. When the swallows swoop at sunset, it's glorious. The house is not quite as close to the sea and the view not quite as wide as I had expected (there are other houses to one side between the villa and the sea, so the view is not 180°) but it is nevertheless wide and wonderful. We thoroughly recommend the small pebble beach 5 minutes' walk from the house. Walk straight down towards the sea then turn right, keeping the sea on your left for 50m or so, there you'll find the stairs. It's very quiet and even if there are other people there, there's a sense of a shared secret - it was perfect for us and we took sea swims every day. Panormos village is charming, friendly and picturesque. We walked in most days and ate well in several different restaurants. Note: I recommend putting bath mats (supplied) out on the main garden patio - at the doors between the house and the patio; opposite, between the lawn and the patio; and at the side access to the patio, from near the air con unit. The floor tiles are not completely anti-slip and get slippery with wet feet or any water. All that remains is for me to thank Tom & Despina for renting us their beautiful Cretan home!

We purchased Villa Athena having rented and stayed at the Panorama Seafront Homes II on numerous previous occasions following an introduction by a friend. The development is perfect for children and adults to relax and there is a great mix of people from Europe and beyond including the UK, Netherlands, Isreal, Norway and Greece.
The nearby traditional fishing village of Panormo is tranquil with friendly people, numerous local and higher end restaurants serving a wide variety of food, including fresh fish, traditional Cretan dishes, and modern twists on local recipes. There are also bars and if lucky live impromptu music.

There are also varies, stores, pharmacy and supermarkets catering for everything needed for a stay in Crete. Located in the middle north of the island, close to Rethymno, it is the perfect location to explore the island of Crete.

We love the friendly locals, the diversified amenities the local area provides and thoroughly enjoy our time in Panormo. We loved it so much that we wanted to have a base there that we could return to year after year and would provide adventures for our children as they grew.
