Second year at Laurel Tree Cottage

This is an ideal property for us. It is within 10 minutes’ maximum walk of the music festival site, and is located in a peaceful lane with plenty of walks nearby. The owner and the local representative are very good at getting in touch and replacing items which have disappeared! A few more hooks on the backs of doors would be useful for hanging jackets and bathrobes, as would a couple of deckchairs so one could sit in the garden.

A family get together at Laurel Tree Cottage

Laurel Cottage is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The village location is perfect with 2 pubs and a tea rooms and farm shop. There are many walks straight from the door and lots of villages to explore which are a short drive away. The cottage had everything we needed and a lovely large garden to enjoy.

Idyllically located, beautiful and well kept.

The house is located in a beautiful village with some essential amenities with the pub providing a cosy environment. The post office and the village shop had some lovely delicatessens and all managed by some lovely people. The house itself was very well kept and everything worked! Very pretty on the outside and tastefully decorated on the inside. The garden was maintained immaculately and the apples on the tree were abundant giving it a very homely feel.

A beautiful house - shame about the cleanliness

I had read other reviews that the cleanliness was not up to scratch so I was prepared (& armed) with cleaning products. It’s a shame that I had to spend time cleaning the house when I should’ve been enjoying it. Most utensils provided & rooms are spacious & homely. Decor is lovely. Needs a deep clean. The beds are a bit creaky! Overall expensive but the house is huge so forgivable, just wish it was cleaner!

Wonderful stay!

We stayed for 5 nights recently to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday! The cottage size was perfect for 11 of us and our dogs. The gardens are absolutely lovely and our granddaughter loved all the swings, trampoline and little summer house. The location was perfect, we visited Adam Henson's farm which is 10 minutes away and then Blenheim Palace the next for the Peter Rabbit experience, a 30 minute drive. We had dinner twice in the Hollow Bottom pub in the village, the food and service was excellent. One other pub the food and service not as good. The post office cafe was also fantastic! Very accommodating and amazing breakfast and pastries. We had an amazing meal and private dining at The Wild Rabbit which was amazing! Our slight disappointment was it does need an improvement on the cleaning....the towels yes are small (like other reviews) and we actually drove to Primark to buy some for the girls and granddaughters. We also bought a couple of throws for the sofa in the kitchen. It was nice to have a small welcome pack on arrival which other reviews suggested. Apart from that..... We absolutely loved out stay xxx

Beautiful home but lacking essentials

The cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and out but strangely it lacks essentials. The owner has a policy to provide essentials such as toilet roll/ dishwasher tablets for the first day of your booking which means you need to go shopping or bring them with you (that's if you know that is the policy which is not stated in any of the information provided) I have never stayed in a rental that has this policy. There are absolutely no basics in the kitchen not a grain of salt/ pepper/ sugar nor a drop of oil, again not something I have ever experienced. The BBQ is a joke and totally unusable for a house that accommodates 9+ people therefore in the summer you only have a 2-ring hob and oven to cook on as the aga is switched off which I wouldn't ask to put on because I would have expected better cooking facilities. The towels provided are very small and threadbare! All board games were removed I imagine because of COVID but this is not necessary anymore. Overall these small but very frustrating issues really irritated me and for the cost of the property really let it down and spoilt the experience. It feels like the house was closed down during COVID and nobody has cared to go in and set the house up for guests. Customer service was helpful and responded when I contacted them and provided more toilet roll and dishwasher products but were unable to help with the other issues.

Stunning Cotswold stone cottage

We visit the Cotswolds every year as a group of nine old friends, and this cottage has been the best place we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away — a stunning Cotswold stone home with so much space, beautifully decorated, and absolutely spotless. It felt instantly welcoming and comfortable. The village is lovely and peaceful, tucked away from the main tourist spots but with everything you could possibly need. There are gorgeous walks straight from the door and some fantastic country pubs within walking distance — perfect for lazy afternoons and evenings together. Kevin, the manager, was brilliant — great communication and so helpful from start to finish. We honestly didn’t want to leave. This cottage has everything you could wish for — beautiful, relaxing, and full of charm. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Beautiful Cotswold Property...

I chose Laurel Tree Cottage for a birthday weekend with friends & the house did not disappoint, fabulous in every way. Beautiful property & the setting equally so. House was immaculate & easily accommodated 9 guests, large enclosed garden to enjoy also & the kitchen leading to the garden seating area was perfect for sitting out in the warm summer evenings. Short walk into the village of Guiting Power, which had a lovely coffee shop & pub, where the staff & locals were all very friendly. Plenty of walks on your doorstep also. Couldn't fault the property & the welcome gifts were a nice touch on arrival. We were able to check into the property at anytime on the Friday & were also told we could check out later on the Sunday, neither of which we requested, so it was a nice bonus. Would definitely book Laurel Tree Cottage again.

A lovely stay

We stayed for my mum’s 70th birthday and had a lovely time. Shona and Kevin were really helpful with anything we needed. The garden was superb and great fun for our little ones. The house had plenty of space for all 9 of us (including children). The bedrooms were lovely and the village was just perfect with 2 coffee stops 2 mins away, a lovely pub and seconds from a beautiful walk through the valley. What more could you ask for.

Bliss in the Cotswolds

This house was absolutely perfect for a family gathering of adults with dogs. The house was very comfortable and well provisioned. Walks from the house were great with the dogs. The pub in the village was welcoming and the Post Office shop/cafe and farm shop provided some extra treats! With the location only ten minutes from Stow, we had everything we needed close by. The Fox at Oddington was an excellent venue for supper. A welcome and information book would have been useful. The week was a huge success so thank you!

Family celebration

A beautiful house in a lovely village with its pubs and small shop/cafe. It catered for all our needs, adults and children alike. Spacious and comfortable with access to footpaths and other villages and towns. In summer the garden would be ideal for family and friends gatherings. A most enjoyable week. Thank you.

Perfect for attending Guiting Music Festival

We wanted somewhere in the village as we attended concerts every evening and it was convenient to be able to walk back. The two pubs are very different but both serve good food and beer, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cottage is in a quiet lane with little passing traffic, and there are good walks from the doorstep.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful home in a wonderful place

A simply stunning break. A lovely property which I can't fault, in a stunning part of the country. It was idyllic. Perfectly positioned to explore further afield but equally we enjoyed a few days just in the beautiful gardens and house. Guiting Power is a 2 minute walk away and has all you need for slotting in to village life. Great communication with Kevin the property manager who even allowed us to arrive earlier. Would definitely recommend

A fabulous bolt-hole in Cotswold Village of great character

Laurel Tree Cottage is ideally situated in the heart of the characterful Cotswold Village of Guiting Power. The spread of accommodation across 3 floors provides spacious rooms - perhaps best suited to families and close friends. The main kitchen and dining area are a little "tight" but adequate for the maximum number that Laurel Cottage can accommodate. The living rooms felt a little dark on dull days and the evenings tho lighting is fine. All beds were "comfy". Food shops, restaurants, pubs etc are all on the door step for those who want to leave behind the motor car. The old Post Office (scrumptious goodies), The Cotswold Guy (for up market ready meals and lunch time treats) and good local beers and fayre at the Farmers Arms, mean traditionalist are superbly catered for. The network of footpaths from the village is great with large numbers of classic Cotswold walks within a few minutes drive. A most enjoyable stay.
