This quaint cottage on Norfork Lake in the AR Ozark Mountains features an incredible, scenic lake/mountain view. This charming 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage features a KING bed in the bedroom and a full bed in the common area, sleeping 4 guests (couch is a full size sleeper). Cottage has L-shaped screened in porch and an excellent view from the bluff of Norfork Lake. Walk (steep) or drive (truck or SUV) down to our private swimming/fishing dock. Relax on a hammock and listen to nature, look a the lake or the stars, view woodland wildlife or enjoy playing basketball, horseshoes, or bag-o with the family! Located just 7 miles outside Mountain Home, AR, next to Bidwell Point Park swim beach, 1/4 mile to 101 Marina for boat rentals and up the road from David's Trail/Panther Bay Park/Launch/Swim Beach. We enjoyed this stay very much. I rated it lower just because it didn’t have everything you could think of as a convenience like most other places, it wasn’t as close or accessible to the water as I expected it to be, and the bathroom was a bit hard to get to and was small. They DID say it was NOT handicap accessible but getting TO the water is extremely difficult unless you are in TOP TOP shape. I couldn’t make it all the way down and was sad that I couldn’t enjoy the water there as expected but the view was beautiful and the host was great and it was super clean!

Everything was perfect! The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The screened porch was a wonderful touch — we spent most of our time there relaxing. The view was absolutely picture-perfect, with a beautiful sunrise over the lake each morning. We will definitely be back!

Lake Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this quaint cottage. We spent most of our time on the back screened in porch which had a great lake view. The bed was comfy! It was a short trip to town to eat or shop.

Relaxing

Really enjoyed our relaxing stay, so much we extended our stay. Beautiful view. Enclosed play area for children. Plenty of bed space for family and friends. Grills are provided along with charcoal etc. you can rent fishing poles.

Jenny was very helpful and very friendly. Kids had fun on a tree swing and on the dock on the lake. Beautiful view on a Norfork lake. A lot of things to do close by. We will come back!

This was an old cabin and very small. We had to wash our own dishes, strip the beds and carry out the garbage which I found strange. This was our first time to book through VRBO so that may be their policy.

Great Weekend Getaway

Our first time in Gamaliel...Everything we needed was there, right down to paper towel, grilling tongs and coffee filters! Great place, great owners - very friendly and accommodating! Quiet and Cozy

We loved our cabin. It was cozy and very clean with a beautiful view of the lake. Our hosts were remarkable and friendly. We will definitely be going back for a peaceful get away. The property was impressive and the boat dock was safe and secluded. Great for swimming and fishing. Thank you Jenni for answering our questions and being such a great host. It was 93 degrees and air conditioner wasn't on. Took forever to cool down. House really needs some work. Leak under kitchen sink. Lamp in bedroom has a short in it. Couldn't keep water in kitchen sink to wash dishes. Stoppers in both sides wouldn't work. Sorry but wouldn't recommend staying here.

What makes this property unique

This resort in particular has a lengthy history - a photo hangs in the office of the main building from 1955, when there were merely ferries to take travelers across the lake in to Mountain HOme, AR. Now, there are (2) bridges, which has changed the vacation experience, but not integrity of our quaint resort. The cabins have been renovated, but there is a lot of nostalgia on property still. Our place is conveniently located but offers a lot of privacy, peace, and serenity, with enough to do to keep the kids entertained and plenty of space for outdoor play.
