About this property

This stylish and spacious apartment is located in the historic city center Chiado offers 2 large bedrooms, a large living room and a balcony with views of Theatre Trindade and Castelo de S. Jorge. Located on the 3rd floor (no elevator) of a historic building from the 19th century.

Located at one of the best spots of Chiado, right next to Bairro Alto, less than 50 meters to Largo do Carmo, very close to best rated restaurants in Lisbon, walking distance to most other historic sites.

THE APARTMENT
This spacious and stylish apartment has a large living room, 2 large bedrooms, and a nice balcony with access from both the living room and one of the bedrooms.

Bedrooms: 2 spacious bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed and also offers an attached dressing room/study. The second bedroom has 2 single beds which can be merged to form a large king-size bed. All mattresses in the apartment are brand new.

Living Room: A large living room with access to the balcony, and stylish decoration. The living room also offers a large dining table. There is a brand new AC and a brand new large TV with Netflix and cable in the living room.
Wifi is also available in the flat. Everything planned for your comfort.

Balcony: There’s a cozy balcony with views of the Castle (Castelo de S. Jorge) and Theatre Trindade.

Kitchen: A well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, an electric stove, a refrigerator, and all the necessary equipment.

Other: In this Portuguese apartment, several azulejos (old Portuguese tiles) on the walls mixed with stylish decoration offer a unique atmosphere.

THE BUILDING

The flat is on the 3rd floor on one of the Portuguese traditional buildings with lots of historical features.
Please note:
1. the building does not have a lift as in most historical buildings in downtown Lisbon.
2. It is a residential building, therefore noise must be avoided during the evening (from 10 pm until 8 am)

Great location unlivable odor

Upon entering location we were met with a noxious odor of sewage and garbage. My wife gagged and ran to bathroom to throw up. Contacted landlord and was told the odor was from street. The street that we entered building from did not smell this bad. Landlord provided scented candles, which we used for a remedy. This did not help. We left next morning and landlord only charged for the one night plus cleaning fee. This apartment, aside from odor, was very nice. It’s open family room had large walk out windows to small terrace . Opening them did little to help. Landlord claim of street smell nullified their benefits. Sewer flies in and around kitchen sink hints it could be plumbing issue. “Nice place, awful odor!”

Comfortable and quiet

The apartment is a comfortable space for 2-3 people on the third floor (no lift). Well situated near bars and restaurants and the nearby Chiado underground station. It is quiet and we hardly heard any of the other residents or street noise during our stay. Fittings are a little tired and in need of updating. Air con and TV both work well.
