The good and the bad
Let me start with the most important detail regarding this listing.... the listing clearly states, in multiple places actually, that this property is located in the very desirable North Beach area. The reality is that this property is located a 20 min DRIVE away from North Beach. It is located near Garrafon Reef Park, at the bottom of the island.
Property- The property is very large and accommodates a large group. Our family of 7 was able to spread out and still have 3 empty beds. The beds were all comfortable. The large dining room table was nice for family dinners. We were very pleased with the size and layout of the property. The views from the property were spectacular. There is a large balcony and large viewing windows in master bedroom, living room, dining room, and kitchen.
The shower heads all desperately need to be replaced! It was nearly impossible to wash hair with the low water pressure coming out of the broken shower heads. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cups, and pots, but does not contain one single item that is oven safe. It needs a set of cookie sheets and a casserole dish or two.
Location- The property is on the south side of the island. It is very quiet and peaceful, but transportation is critical as there is very little access to food on the south side. Additionally, if you are interested in making frequent trips to the beach or are excited about the night life near the North Beach, this is not the property for you. Getting to North Beach from the property is rather cumbersome. It is every bit of a 20 min taxi/golf cart ride! The property is, however, walking distance to Punta Sur.
The property has water access! Large, clean pool. The view from the pool is really beautiful. There is an area large enough for 2 chairs in the sand overlooking the water. There is a very large snorkeling area located AT the property! Bring water shoes if you plan to snorkel because the rocks and creatures hiding in the very abundant sea grass make it dangerous without them.
There is a pool and snorkeling area, but no real beach access Yes, you can jump off the dock into the water, but there is no zero entry access point. Additionally, the ocean floor is covered in thick sea grass, so good for snorkeling but very undesirable for swimming.
