About this property
Relax by the pool with a view over the Célé valley
Blissful lazing by the large pool, a splash in the river or visiting one of the beautiful villages or caves nearby? Welcome to this authentic 'mas' on the hill, away from the crowds and close to everything you could wish for.
Take the exit just before Cahors, on the A20 southbound, and your holiday really begins. The road winds through the beautiful Parc Naturel Régional et Géoparc des Causses de Quercy, and 30 minutes later you're lying in the heated pool.
Aperitif?
Located on the hillside, the villa overlooks the valley of the river Célé with falaises about 100m below.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen, a living room directly connected to the pool and a play/pool room in the basement.
Directly outside the kitchen is an outdoor terrace with gas BBQ. Right by the pool is a covered lounge (which, in case of rain, can also be used as an outdoor dining area) and an outdoor kitchen with dressing room/toilet.
The private 11x5m saltwater pool, overlooking the garden and stunning views of the falaises, can be heated to 27 degrees.
The private parking area behind the guest house can accommodate up to 4 cars.
The total estate consists of 13 ha of woodland of which the fenced hillside garden is about 1 ha, maintained fortnightly by a professional gardener.
Conjure up a cool wine from the pantry and treat the home folks to a selfie overlooking the valley behind you. No need to light the large barbecue on the upper terrace just yet, as it runs on gas. Handy. So you have plenty of time to make plans for tomorrow:
-Dive into the heated saltwater pool first thing in the morning (no stinging chlorine eyes!).
-Get the tastiest croissants in Cabrerets.
-Go see the cave paintings of Pêche-Merle (10 km away).
-Walk 500m to the little beach below and dive into the Célé.
-Order an artisanal ice cream in beautiful Marcilhac-sur-Célé (8 km).
-Shop in Cajarc and take time for a pastis.
-Reserve at Espédaillac's primal French restaurant.
-Rent a kayak and explore the Célé.
-Cruise by car along the beautiful valleys and villages.
-Visit the artists' village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
-Explore one of the many hiking trails nearby (GR651) .
-Enjoy shooting stars and the Milky Way.
-Make a boat trip on the Lot.
-Stop at the Museum of Curiosities (and actually step inside).
-Go shopping in Toulouse (with airport) at 1, 5 hrs.
-Make room in the suitcase for some wine from Cahors (40 mins).
-Hike, bike, go horse riding, wall climbing, fishing ...
-or decide you just feel like lazily enjoying yourself.
Saulliac-sur-Célé is in the middle of 'Le Triangle Noir Du Quercy'. Within this dark triangle, every village extinguishes its lights at night. Planets, the Milky Way and dozens of shooting stars appear there night after night in a literally magnificent starry sky.
At 25m from the villa there is a comfortable and fully equipped guest house of 100m2 with sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people. This house is not rented separately during the summer months, but can be rented as an additional privacy accommodation for parents or in case of a larger group.
