Spacious Rural Cottage with Amazing Views, Nr Exeter

Guests will enjoy soaking up the fantastic countryside views from all rooms in the cottage, it is full of natural light. Having recently been extended and fully refurbished, the cottage is spacious, warm and cosy. You should find everything you need for a comfortable stay, if there’s anything missing just let me know and I’ll see what I can do! All the beds have super comfy high quality mattresses, with quality bedding and Egyptian cotton towels. You will find many toys and games to keep the kids entertained and some for the adults too. The welcome hamper includes goodies from local producers and the cottage handbook is stuffed full of local walks, maps, recommendations, farmers markets, local beaches, cycle routes, and visitor attractions and anything else I think might be helpful, such as how to look after the chickens! (Should you wish to do so… kids, and adults, often love to give them food and keep the water topped up, and who doesn’t love fresh eggs every morning!)

Arranged over three floors, the accommodation includes -

First floor
Master bedroom with a huge super king size bed, ensuite double shower room, smart TV, dressing table, wardrobe and lots of drawers
Large bedroom with a single bed
Large bedroom with big sturdy bunk beds
Main family bathroom, includes a large bath with shower
There is also an cosy area hidden at the end of the corridor perfect for making a den or a secret reading space

Top floor

Separate adjoining area with a full size single bed and large office desk
This room is up in the loft so the stairs come up into the main room and the ceiling slopes down at the sides, meaning you can look up at the stars through the velux windows

Ground floor
Covered porch with wellie boot rack, leads into
Large boot room, perfect for dropping off all the beach kit or walking boots, leads to
Open plan living area with comfy sofas and wood burning Esse stove, and patio doors which open onto the garden decking area
Open plan kitchen off the living area, with large kitchen island, double range oven and hob, larder size fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and pretty much everything else you could possibly need in a kitchen (this is often our home, so it is well equipped)
Open plan dining room that opens off the kitchen, with an extra long farmhouse table that seats 8-10, and many toys and games for you to enjoy
Separate snug sitting room with Smart TV, DVD player, and large comfy corner sofa for family movie nights
Utility/laundry room off the kitchen, with freezer, washing machine and clothes airer
WC & plant room (the cottage is super insulated and is heated by an air source heat pump)

Outside there is a large decked seating area opening off the main living room, with a BBQ, a fire pit, a den & tree house, a sandpit and a huge trampoline for the kids. Through an arched gateway in the hedge there is a large garden with another decked area, a veg patch, and chickens to look after!

The views from the cottage are seen from every room, with stunning rolling hills and farmland in every direction. There is not another house to be seen, except our direct neighbours who are lovely. Ideal for families getting together to explore all that Devon has to offer, from local walks around the farmland and train line, for walking on Dartmoor or the South West Coast Path, cycling in the Teign Valley, kayaking the rivers, Go Ape at nearby Haldon Forest Park, or spending a day on the many local beaches or the moor.

This is the perfect location for getting away from it all, without being too far off the beaten track. Central Exeter is 2 miles away, with its mainline train station only 2 hours from central London. Several beaches are within half an hour. Dartmoor National Park is just 7 miles (15 mins). We are also ideally situated for visits to the whole South Devon coast, Exmoor, the North Devon coast, and into Cornwall.
