About this property

Hunter's Escape near National Parks and River Beach sleeps 9

We are excited to have you visit! Great fishing holes are within a three minute drive from the house. If you are visiting Yellowstone National Park for the 2022 season, roads are open April 15 thru November 7, 2021.
This cozy escape is located in the center of town within walking distance of grocery store, movie theater, bowling alley, and the river beach on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Hunter's Escape has a separate private entrance, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining room.
Upon arriving, guests enter from the outside into the common laundry area, then into the apartment through a separate entrance with locking door. Please note, there are stairs to navigate to enter the basement level.
The kitchen is fully stocked with refrigerator, stove, oven, dishes for eating and cooking, as well as a microwave, toaster, rice cooker, cutting board, pots, pans, flatware, dining dishes and glasses, mugs, and tea pot. Kitchen is also stocked with an assortment of fresh fruit, breads, bagels, cold cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, cream cheese, and teas for breakfast in the mornings.
The master bedroom features a comfortable queen sized bed with a spacious walk in closet. It also has a twin sized floor mattress should you need it. This room is decorated in forest animals and will sleep 3.
The second bedroom features a full sized bed. It is a small room with a low doorway entrance, so if you are taller than 5'8", you may have to duck through the doorway. The windows in this room do not open, but it does have a bomb shelter accessible from the closet. Due to the bomb shelter, this room may have a slight musty odor, but we will do everything we can to remove it before you arrive. This room is also decorated in forest animals, but not the same as the other bedroom and will sleep 2.

The large cozy living room has a very comfortable sofa which transforms nicely into a queen sized hide-a-bed at night with a memory foam mattress for your good night's sleep. It has a comfortable couch that is very comfortable to sleep on to accommodate everyone in your party. It also features a gas fireplace stove to take away the chill on cold nights or just to add a cozy feeling to the room. A cozy love seat will accommodate a smaller person or child for sleeping. For kids, a dollhouse with dolls and doll furniture is just waiting to be played with. Flat screen TV is ROKU enabled and is set up with Netflix, Disney+, Prime, and other assorted channels. This entire space is furnished in cute forest wildlife decor which is sure to make you feel at home.

Bathroom has a pedestal sink, toilet, and a large walk in shower. We provide towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and shower gel. New tile flooring throughout and new tile walls in the shower added in spring 2019.

Guests are welcome to use the laundry room during their stay. Laundry room features a commercial washer with two dryers. We provide laundry soap and fabric softener.

Guest access:
Guests are welcome to use this entire space and everything in it, but only this space. Please note that other areas in the basement outside of the apartment are not included and are restricted.

Guest interaction:
We live upstairs and are available to visit and answer questions anytime. We would love to share our extensive knowledge of Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park, Craters of the Moon, and more with you!

Neighborhood overview:
In a quiet little town of just over 3,000 people, the town is pretty much the neighborhood. Our little quarter of town is very quiet and located in the more prestigious side of town. There are all of the city amenities within a few blocks (gas station, several eating facilities, Banks, city offices, Library, grocery store, convenience stores, parks, religious facilities, movie theater, bowling alley, Fitness Center, and more.)

Getting around:
We do not have public transportation in our area at this time. However, the movie theater and bowling alley are two blocks to the west of our location (you can see them from our home). Also within 5 blocks of our location are the banks, hardware store, pharmacy, grocery store, and several wonderful restaurants. Within walking distance are two parks that front the river and one that does not, but has a great playground for those with children.

Other things to note:
There are steps going down into the basement at the entryway, so you will need to be able to navigate steps.

Had a nice stay!
I really enjoyed our stay at this fascinating, quaint, cozy old home! We all enjoyed discovering some fun little nooks and crannies and being shown more by the owner! I was impressed with the kind and thoughtful details of providing water bottles, treats and some food. This was my first time using Vrbo. I didn’t know what to expect. I’m so glad I decided to give it a try!

Good attention
Excellent owners and attention, not giving 5 stars because there was a problem with the online reservation and we had to change places every night, other than that everything was as expected

About the host

Host profile image
My husband, Jason, and I are the parents of 7 active kids, six of which are at home. They are lively, but respectful of others and usually quiet during our guests stay. We love to meet new people and travel to new places. Having previously owned a video store, we enjoy movies, specifically science fiction, action, history, comedy, and romance. We enjoy good books, especially classics and all kinds of music. We love to explore national parks, especially Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks as they are so close.
We would love to host you! With six kids at home between the ages of 6 and 20, our home can be busy, so we are usually up later in the evenings. We prefer to meet our guests at the door, and are available for questions. We love to talk about the area you will be visiting and what there is to do and see. Please feel free to ask us questions!
Our motto is "Life is a journey, not a destination". We believe that everyone should live and enjoy life to its fullest and remember to stop and smell the roses, and look up at the beauty around them along the way.

Why they chose this property

We chose to purchase a home in St. Anthony because we love the quiet hometown feeling of the area. Jason grew up here and we both love the town and the residents. This area is wonderful as it is close to so many outdoor activities! We have enjoyed hiking in Yellowstone National Park, visiting Craters of the Moon and pretending we are on a live volcano, biking down the road between Driggs and Victor with an awe inspiring view of the Tetons, fishing, kayaking, and swimming in the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, sledding down the Sand Dunes in the winter, and being inspired by the majesty of the water at Mesa Falls and Cave Falls.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the uniqueness of our home. We love the inlaid wood scattered on the main level. We love the flexibility our home has offered us during the years. Our children love the attic where they can escape from others. We especially love sitting in the living room or porch and watching the squirrels play in the silver maples and apple trees. This apartment is an especial favorite of our as we sometimes use it as a quiet get-a-way when it is empty.
